dlow206
Normally you can get the 6 ball pack for 9.99 from Golf Discount, but seems like folks are hoarding golf balls at the moment and they are sold out of those. ejgaudette
I found a dozen Z-stars at my local walmart for 25, grabbed a box just because, though that 6 for 10 deal sounds like a great one. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy not at all. the ones that were sent to me don’t even have logos on them so i ended up with 3 dozen Z stars exactly as if i’d walked into Dick’s and grabbed 3 boxes. Kansas King
I don't know much about Srixon production numbers but there are Z-Stars everywhere. The key thing about them is that most of these sale Z-Stars are prior models. You can get a dozen of them at Walmart for $25 but they are from a prior year. Same goes for when Dick's had their sale. I have yet to see a current model Z-Star sell for under $40/dozen. I really think that Srixon has continued making the old models or at least the old packing and keeps selling them at "discounts" to rack up sales. Regardless of what they are doing, I haven't really had bad luck with any of their balls. Chip Strokes

StrawberryShortCake
I've played zstars for a while now, Never noticed much difference in years. I guess i'm not good enough to need the best of the best. I play srixon exclusively now after playing prov 1's and not seeing much difference between the balls other than price. Thr srixon is a great ball and a great price. Regardless of what they are doing, I haven't really had bad luck with any of their balls. This is nothing new as OEMs often have a surplus of prior generation balls. I've even found 2015 model Pro V1 and Pro V1x balls available at Target (for full MSRP). I think it's important for people to be aware of the practice and identify differences in packaging to know if the deal is good (prior-gen Srixon Z-Stars for $25) or bad (prior-gen Pro V1s for $48). IMO, the only reason it makes logical sense to want to pay current-gen prices for prior-gen balls is if buying for the performance characteristics of that specific generation of golf ball (which is a very small percentage of golfers). Golf Discount will periodically have "performance packs" (6 balls) of the current gen Z Star and Z Star XVs for $10.00 each, so $20/dozen. I picked up about 5 dozen a month or so ago. gmdeac10
I bought like 3 dozen from Dicks when they went on sale. I know they were the prior year balls. I don't mind since they're so much better than the balls I was using before. I think my goal going forward to is to load up in the spring when Srixon does their BOGO deals.
