Ever since I can remember, I have been intrigued by the night sky.  Being in the UP of Michigan for a few years spoiled me.

Northern lights, crystal clear skies...

It isn’t so bad where I am at in Maryland, and the Sky Guide app helps find the stars, planets and meteor showers.

Right now I just have a ‘ok’ set of binoculars, but I am contemplating on buying the Millennium Fal... I mean a telescope.

Tonight’s show is Mars almost as close as it will be until 2035, closest was a few days ago, and there will be a meteor shower around 11.

Anyone else interested in Space?

I've watched all of the Universe episodes on the Science Channel.  I have seen galaxies far, far away.  Does that count?  And I didn't get one mosquito bite!!

Always. It’s almost eery to think about how much is out there.

but think about this, we know less about the ocean then space......yikes

Oh I love all the space stuff. The imaging of that super massive black hole last year was incredible.

I’ve gone down many a rabbit hole on line reading about space and time and all that stuff. I consider myself a bit of a sci-if nerd.

Some of the space conspiracy theories are the best. I read one a while back that suggested that not only have we already been to Mars, but we have a secret colony already there. And we travel there with FTL spacecraft.

Slightly un-related. I started watching The Expanse on Amazon and it has some really interesting takes on what living in space and future space travel might be like.

I am. I'm just overwhelmed by the quantity of starts and planets. When we lived in Chicago, one of our favorite venues was the Planetarium - an awesome experience.

Great Lakes?? So did I but unfortunately in the winter. There was something about standing in line outside in February freezing weather for an hour  waiting to go in for breakfast that didn't appeal to me

Boot camp was winter when I finished was end of April, chilly but not bad

I enjoyed watching the show Aliens on history channel because those Fs are goofy.
 
The science channel stuff on the universe is cool stuff especially the stuff Morgan Freeman narrates. I've learned a ton from those shows.
