HighFade
So I cruised up to the 1st tee, and once I reached into my bag, I realized I only had 3 balls. This course is long, and danger lurks everywhere. I lost one on 6, but went the rest of the way with my second-to-last ball. It’s a win. cnosil, Rickp, DiscipleofPenick and 4 others 7 Quote There is no spoon. Its an interesting situation, and it brought to mind the stuff from Every Shot Counts. In analyzing outcomes of tee shots, the optimum for long-term scoring average isn't selecting a shot and aim that results in ZERO balls OB or in a Penalty Area. Optimal strategy accepts a small percentage of those really poor outcomes. Surprisingly, optimal means higher handicappers (wider dispersion) should accept a HIGHER number of bad outcomes than optimal for a scratch player. But that stuff goes out the window when you're down to your last couple of golf balls.
