release
Congratulation on your improvement . To get to the next level is simple. By eliminating the numbers of "bleeding" holes. By that I meant, you can see on your score card of the triple , quadruple over par. Think of how that happened. Was that the result from playing the "Tin Cup" type of golf ? Learn to avoid turning a bogey hole into a snowman hole with golf course management will be the key to unlock scoring in the 80's. At your current skill level, avoiding big numbers on the golf course will bring the score down. When you manage your round of golf, use the "average" shot you could produce to manage the golf course , not your best possible shot and try the heroic shot which you know you will have a low percentage of pulling it off. I know some of us will have a different view, and nothing wrong with the mind set of going for GRI on every golf hole. That might push you a bit harder to accelerate the improvement. Club parallel requires very little body movement. It’s hard tell 100% from dtl but your wrist angles are incorrect. Especially the left wrist. The left wrist shouldn’t match the shaft. TBH, just going to use what ever works Ok. The reason I asked was to avoided giving feedback based on the approach you weren’t using. Two things that stand out on both is the left shoulder doesn’t work down and towards the ball. You start with the arms and not the chest causing early forearm rotation which causes the left arm to separate and the right arm to get under the left arm. The right arm should be on top of the left in the backswing which will then allow it to shallow and get under the left in the downswing. What happens in the swing as a result is lots of manipulation of the swing as compensation. Like I mentioned to @sirchunksalot last night work on the wrist hinge that starts the ntc swing and then after doing that for awhile hinge the wrist from address then just feel the chest rotate a little til the club is at shaft parallel. Drill this over and over. What happens between address and left arm parallel is almost 3/4 of the entire swing Kenny B, Vegan_Golfer_PNW and sirchunksalot 3 Quote Driver: PXG 0811 X+ Proto w/UST Helium 5F4 Wood: TaylorMade M5 5W w/Accra TZ5 +1/2”, TaylorMade Sim 3W w/Aldila rogue white Hybrid: PXG Gen2 22* w/AD hybrid Irons: PXG Gen3 0311T w/Nippon modus 120 Wedges: TaylorMade MG2 50*, Tiger grind 56/60 Putter: Scotty Caemeron Super Rat1 Ball: Titleist Prov1

heavygolffeels
The left is the drill, which is overly exaggerated, but thats kind of the point of the drill. But well positioned to swing shallow, to swing from the inside, to hit up on the ball. The right is going to be a steep OTT either duck hook, or with an open face you can save it with a weak high spin fade that goes no where. Slow and steady progress. my hope is to have Your setup is the cause of part of the cause of many of your swing issues. Your balance points are way off and will cause unnecessary movement in your swing as well as early extension and lack of proper rotation. Your glutes are too far behind your heel. The back of your armpits should line up with your hips, knees and ankle/mid foot. Two ways to get into a better setup position. First would be how you see GG and Monte. Have soft shoulders and a rounded upper back, bend at the waist without pushing your glutes back and then soften the knees. These two guys have lots of speed despite their older age. The other is to be released and samething of bending at the waist where you feel 70-75% if your weight on your toes. From here again soften the knees. You will see similar setups in numerous pros. These fixes along with having a good grip will help solve a number of flaws and the associated compensations you make in your swing. It will allow for better rotation around the spine and getting the left shoulder to work down and towards the ball in stead of around. Will give you the chance to keep the right arm on top of the left arm up to shaft parallel and help keep the concept of steep to shallow of the club in the swing. Having this will help get the club coming more from the inside and not having to stall and standup to compensate for the steep shaft and early extending to get the club to the ball. I would spend a lot of time working on the setup and grip on a mirror. You can use training aids and do drills to fix the compensations in your swing but they will be temporary bandaids until you have a good and consistent setup and takeaway. Your setup is better in those but has a little too much of the upper body towards the toes. Your hips are stacked good on the ankles in those videos. The swing faults and compensations are similar because of the balance. You don’t get any hip depth in the backswing as a result. You get disconnected in the arms early in both outside and takeaway as well as get early arm rotation. My suggestion would be to determine if you want to use the Monte philosophy of not having a one piece takeaway or use the one piece takeaway. Based on what approach you take the drills and feeling recommendations will change. I know we all want to full swing on the range and we all want to play better golf now but in reality it’s going to take time to change movement patterns and will require more time hitting partial shots and doing drills than hitting full shots. Many of the instructors I’ve watched over the last year plus work from impact and slowly build up to full swings. Planemate does this in the short band protocol, GG does it in his course and has several impact drills to start things off. Bradley Hughes does the same. He starts with club just above ground parallel into impact. Then moves to using a little bit of body turn. Then onto post impact before getting into the takeaway and transition. A lesson I took a few years ago, that's how the guy was trying to teach me. To start my move at impact, he wanted me to just push the ball where it would litteraly go maybe 3 to 5 yards...ha but wanted to ingrain that feeling of what the clubs should be doing post impact. It is one of the toughest drills I've ever tried, and it seems so simple. sirchunksalot, RickyBobby_PR, Vegan_Golfer_PNW and 1 other 4 Quote G430 Max 10K TSiR1 15.0 Aldlia Ascent 60g TSR2 18.0 PX Aldila Ascent 6og TSi1 20 Aldila Ascent Shafts R T350 5-GW SteelFiber I80 SM10 48F/54M and58K S159 48S/52S/56W/60B Select 5.5 Flowback 35" ProV1 Play number
sirchunksalot
I don't know why I haven't followed this before now, but I just remedied that. I'm rooting for you big time and am enjoying reading your progress so far. This game is tough, but I believe you can break 90. As far as what was mentioned in the last few posts, I've been working also on taking shorter swings and getting a feel of what better contact feels like. Like I told my wife, contact just feels crispy doing that. I saw in Monte's Instagram about Colin Morikawa and getting his palm down and am trying to emulate that at contact. cnosil, edingc and Vegan_Golfer_PNW
Vegan_Golfer_PNW
Realized I am still over rotating, even doing the NTC drills. Tired to rectify that this morning.
