they can reshaft and rebalance it for you for $100 i believe. just send in a video for a fitting and measure things on your current LAB and let them know and see if they need to make adjustments

I think they stopped doing this and pretty sure they won't do it for the models that used the interference fit. Matt told me they had problems in the past with the interference fit.

I put into play a different putter and distance control was much better than with the DF 2.1. I didn’t really have to think. With the DF 2.1, i have to think about not hitting the ball too hard

As someone with an slight/strong arc stroke, I notice better distance control on longer putts with a toe-hand putter vs face balance at the expense of start line direction control. Lie angle balanced could have similar impacts. I would like to see one of these in the Most Wanted mallet test...

With all the talk of gaming 2 drivers in the future, a DF plus a lag specific putter would be hilarious to go with 2 drivers.

Some folks say their distance control is even better with the DF than standard putters, whereas i am the opposite.

Maybe they are at the extreme end of the SBST spectrum with minimal arc naturally and the DF complements that, or the weighting is better. It's all personal, the DF probably complements their stroke better than traditional putters (or the dozen they bought off the shelf with no fitting after draining putts in the store).

I saw some Facebook comments last night about a guy shelfing his due to lag putting. Most people tend to say short putt performance and inside 20' feel more automatic versus they never 3 putt anymore or it "really shines from 60 feet".

For sure its definitely personal.

My hypothesis on why it doesn't work for me on lag putting (don't know if it is fully true or not) is because the head feels really light during the stroke (supposedly due to the lack of torque), but the head is actually on the heavier side (370 grams to 415 grams), so my mind thinks i need to hit the ball harder than i actually should. Don't know whether this is true or not, just my thinking.

I have noticed that I tend to die the ball into the hole from whatever distance using the DF, but blow it by regularly with a traditional putter. I believe it has to do with the fact that I feel I have to actively release a regular putter through impact whereas I let the DF release itself through impact.

I bought one too this summer because it felt so natural versus all of the other brands, including the Even-Rolls which is what I was biased toward when I scheduled the fitting.  So far, so good, but in full candor I have only played two rounds with it. Also, I have not spent much time working on putting, but I plan to spend more time on it this winter.

Just commenting on first post. Just following this thread as am just about to pull the trigger. Looking at same sight lines combined 18 and 19.

Was curious about your lie angle as if tested with standard putter by remote fitting , to get to the same point with a centre shafted putter the lie angle would have to be flatter which is what your shop fitting was you initially got ,If you wanted the ball in the same setup position or does the forward press eliminate this issue. I was wondering if anybody else has thought about this side of it.

Hope this make sense what I am asking

Cheers

I understand what you are asking, and what you've said makes sense. I have not really thought about it, though. Going from 33" to 36" was such a dramatic difference that trying to replicate the same position probably wasn't feasible.

I suppose someone going from a "normal" putter to a same length L.A.B. might have a different experience.

I purchased a DF putter indirectly through a friend, so I don’t know the lie angle and the putter is probably a little long for me.  Although I was putting it pretty well.  Hopefully that’s not a gigantic mistake.  Is there a way to shorten the putter at all, ideally without taking off the grip and taking off part of the shaft?  And how do I check the lie angle of the putter, vs. what I might get from sending LAB a video of my swing?  Thanks!

If you have a smart phone, just get a protractor app - then put the putter on a known level surface (checked with the protractor app also) and then put your phone on the top of the shaft and it will read the angle.

Don't know whether this is true or not, just my thinking.

Because the 2.1 is so forgiving of toe and heel strikes, I find I get terrific distance control by looking at the flag stick in the hole while I take my stroke (or other aiming point if there's lots of break).

I liken it to tossing a bean bag at a corn-hole board, you wouldn't look at your hand when making that toss, you look at the target.

Do all of your practice strokes just like normal so you can see you're coming through straight, and get set up to your line, but then look at the target as you stroke it.  The tech of the putter allows this, since you don't absolutely have to hit the center of the face to put a good roll on the ball.  Give it a try.  I hope it works as brilliantly for you as it does for me.

Would interesting if anyone else has had different lie angles to their orginal putter if they used the same length.

As you mentioned about your video . That the tow was slightly up and yes as you said you can correct it by lifting hands up to increase the lie and drop the toe
