Popular Post sirchunksalot
Welcome to the 2020 Classic Bag Challenge! Do you have an old set of clubs in storage you've wanted to take out play? Here's your chance. You'll be competing for the top prize of a dozen personalized Bridgestone Tour B RX Golf balls and the title of Classic Bag Champion. It was suggested by @HardcoreLooper we do a trial run for this challenge and I'll be doing another in the spring that will include our friends who live in cooler climates and can't participate this year. The rules: Your classic bag must consist of wooden or laminate wood, no metal allowed. Your irons must be blades manufactured before 1995. Set wedges and specialty wedges are allowed, but follow the same guidelines as the irons. Let's see some of those bump and run shots! Putters were the tough ones to figure out and I didn't want to exclude anyone that doesn't have a classic so there will be a half stroke penalty overall of you use a newer putter. I'll be using the same scoring system that @JohnSmalls used in the Hard Rock Challenge which takes into account course rating, slope, and handicap. Gross score - ((slope/113)x(handicap/2))+(72-course rating) The Classic Bag Challenge starts November 1 and will run until December 20. So dust off those old clubs and play as many nine hole rounds as you would like. If you play 18, just split the score up and submit your best one along with your handicap, course rating, and slope. Also, we'd love to see photos of the clubs you're playing! Leaderboard (11/9/20) @ @NRJyzr 34.0 @deejaid 37.32301 @HardcoreLooper 43.62 @sirchunksalot 56.384 11
fixyurdivot
What a great idea! My PE2's are pre 1995 but not blades and I no longer have any real wood woods. It will be fun to watch this contest evolve. Now if you're really wanting to spice it up a whisker, add a Hard Rock game within the game 2 1 Quote G410 Plus, 9 Degree Driver G400 SFT, 16 Degree 3w G400 SFT, 19 Degree 5w ZX5 Irons 4-AW Glide 2.0 56 Degree SW (removed from double secret probation ) ER5v Putter (Evnroll ER5v Official Review)

You can use any ball you like. Thought about adding a bonus for using post older wound balls, but those are kinda hard to find.

I am going to bet they aren't quite round anymore! 1 2 Quote Modern Bag: 849 Pro 9*, Accra Tour Z M5 Flex; 915F 3w, Diamana S+ 70 S flex; Snake Eyes 18*, & 23* Hybrids; JPX 900 Forged 5 - PW, PX LZ 6.0; Raw 50*, Nippon Tour 120 X; SM9 54* / 10* / S, Wedge Flex ; Tour Action 57*, PX LZ 6.5; Ancient Anser or Heppler Fetch (depends on the week); Ball - MTB-Black; Bag - H2NO Shot Scope H4, MG600 Rangefinder Classic Bag: Driver - Persimmon; 3w - Speed Slot; 5w - Tour Block; 3 - pw - Dynapower; sw - Ram Tom Watson; putter - bullseye standard or flange. Those might be fun on the green, wobble...goes right, wobble...goes left. I'm thinking I've seen some Titleist DT 90's on occasion at Wal-Mart in the recycled balls. I might have to pick some up if I can find them. Right now I'm leaning toward the Wilson Zip, I've read on the Powered by Persimmon blog that @deejaid runs they work well with old drivers. Can't wait to hear how they work for you!
fixyurdivot
I'm throwing in a TBD winning for the player sporting the best "most classic" attire. Think plaid, think wool, think avocado green and rust orange. Photos on the course required . 4 Quote G410 Plus, 9 Degree Driver G400 SFT, 16 Degree 3w G400 SFT, 19 Degree 5w ZX5 Irons 4-AW Glide 2.0 56 Degree SW (removed from double secret probation ) ER5v Putter (Evnroll ER5v Official Review)

HardcoreLooper
I need to get some fresh grips on the Grinds. After two months of Power Holes and low-face deflection, I can't wait to put the Arccos away and get analog for a month or so. According to folks on the NLU Refuge, the Bridgestone BXS is also a good pick for classics rounds. 3 Quote What's in the bag: Driver - F8 - Aldila NV Blue 60 ( S ) 3 Wood (16*) - F8 - Aldila NV Blue 60 ( S ) 3 Hybrid (19*) - RBZ 4i - PW - D7 Forged - Recoil 760 ( S ) GW - LW - F8 - N.S.
