He seemed to *really* like the wedges.

If I ever fall out of love with my Srixons these will be rocketing to the top of the list.

Well, I had 2 wedges in my shopping cart and was one click away from pulling the trigger, but decided that I didn't really want the raw finish and will just wait until the satin finish wedges are back in stock.....I did, however, create an account and sign up for the newsletter in the meantime.

Edit:  I ended up ordering a 54 and 60 JB wedge in black finish

I ordered a JB low bounce 58* last week so just waiting for it to be built and shipped.  I've had the hybrids for a year now and really loving them.  Overall Sub70 is a great company to deal with and the products are outstanding.

For those that have tested or purchased Sub 70 golf equipment:

What have you purchased & were you pleased with it?

If you could do it all over, would you make the same purchase or go a different route?

thanks for any feedback!

At one point last season, I only had 12 clubs in my bag... I jumped from 6 iron to hybrid... I was in the middle of a bag rebuild, and wasn't sure what I wanted to do.

I picked up the 699u 4 iron, and loved it... it was the first utility iron I had ever gotten along with. Jason was helpful, service was great price was amazing... then I realized I should actually carry a 5 iron... Same experience, 639 CB 5 iron, Jason was super helpful on shaft selection, and offered me the S400, which hadn't come up in a fitting when I was between the S300 and X100... Great club, great price, great service.

I wanted wedges built to my specs, so I went Sub70... 54 286 and 58 JB Low Bounce... Both are great clubs.

Finally, when they offered a non adjustable hybrid, I bought it the day of release... 4 separate transactions, all clubs ordered and built custom. 0 problems, excellent service.

I could easily bag a set of Sub70s (outside the putter and maybe the driver) and highly recommend reaching out to them with questions... Great company.

I am very interested in some Sub70 irons as I like the look of them. Only just started looking. Im playing off 13, how do people find the forgiveness of the 699 or 699 pros? I love the look of the 699 pro black but wondering if im safer going for the 699 if they are more forgiving.?

One thing that would stop me is not being able to try the clubs before hand, I don't believe the ship demos to England.

I have the 699 5-7 and the 699 Pro 8-PW.....love them.  Very forgiving for such a great looking iron.  I was curious if the top line would be noticeable 699 vs Pro....and realized after a few rounds, I can't see a difference.  Give them a call with concerns they are great but a combo set is ideal, IMO  I waited too long to finally buy mine....wish I had sooner.

I received the JB low bounce 58* wedge a couple days ago.  I've had it on the range and course a couple times.  Overall it's a great feeling and performing wedge.  Before I had 2 high bounce wedges in the bag but I'm finding that having a LB 58* and then a higher bounce 54* makes for more choices depending on the area of the course, condition of bunkers, etc.  So far this wedge is a winner for me.  I had it built to same specs/shaft etc as my current SM8 so the switchover was painless.

This whole thread is great to read. I’m local to Sub70 and am heading there this week to look at hybrids. All this talk has me thinking other possibilities as well. Glad everyone is really digging these and makes me feel more comfortable looking at them.

I have two utility irons from them, the two iron is a beast. I want to try more and more from them just because of how good the utilities have been, but I am weirdly at a place with most of the rest of my bag that I am happy with. Those wedges look real real nice though. What are the big differences between the JB grind and the 286 @myherobobhope? Sorry I don't have a visor to bribe you with haha.

It’s fine, my visor needs have been met for this month.

I don’t think there is a ton of difference, the sole grind and bounce options are different... I like the classic sole on the 286 for standard shots and the more aggressive grind on the jb for opening it up and playing more flop shots.

Thanks for the message!

The 286 Series is an update to our previous Forged Series, with a straighter leading edge compared to the original model. They're a bit more rounded to the front edge compared to the JB to let it glide a bit more than dig in. Very forgiving, super easy to hit in terms of a forged wedge. This should be closer in comparison to Cleveland's 588 series wedges than our JB Wedges will be.

The JB Wedge is more of our "Tour Preferred" wedge, and features more heel relief, more of a straight leading edge, and little less of a rounded sole. These wedges are designed for golfers that want their wedge to sit a bit tighter when it’s a straight on shot, while offering workability by using the bounce. This is very comparable to Vokey SM8 M Grind.
