SPY VIP GolfSpy_X Posted August 12, 2011 SPY VIP Share Posted August 12, 2011 Here are the sneak-peeks at the 2012 Mizuno Golf club line-up. The event took place on August 9th in Atlanta. (Many thanks to GolfSpy_J for making it down to the event for us and shooting pics.) Enjoy! #TruthDigest
rolla123
Where are the jpx 800 pros replacement? I see the new wedge has the same badge as the 800 pros but I don't see any irons. Also kinda funky looking new clubs there mizuno!
Matt Saternus
Great pics! I saw the line up in person the other day and it looks great. The 59 looks way better in person than in the early pics. Where are the pics of the MP-Fli Hi? It's one of the clubs I'm most interested in. Rolla: JPX 800 and 800 Pro won't be replaced until next fall; 2 year product cycle. Tyk
New Wedges! The whole line up looks pretty good, but I lost my 58* MP-R and my 56* is getting to where the sharpener can't salvage it! reg
Were either of the 50deg wedges in LH? Disappointed Mizuno has now gone to the 46deg PW and for lefties the lowest wedge is 52, bending to 50 reduces the bounce too much.
Xamilo
No no and no! These have to bee the worst looking like ever for Mizuno! Except for the R Wedged I think the whole line looks more like a Callaway line of clubs than Mizunos. The JPX line really is behind the MX line and the new MP-59s are no match for the "old" MP-58. Maybe the technology is better (I doubt it) , but in my opinion, the looks are just not there for Mizuno...
Tha Living Legend
The JPX 800 and JPX 800 Pro irons will remain unchanged for the fall/winter. The JPX 800 HD is an addition to the JPX Line. The FLI-HI will also remain unchanged for the fall/winter. Neither wedge offering will have a 50* wedge for lefties. Sorry! You guys get the short end everytime. rolla123
So where are the jpx HDs going to slot into the jpx lineup? Are they like a "max" game improvement iron?
Tha Living Legend
JPX 800 HD irons will be considered super game improvement irons.

TWShoot67
I'd like to try out the MP 69's. I'd like to compare them to one of my favorite sets of all times, the MP 29's. I played the 29's for a good 5 years and I loved everything about them except the amount of offset of the pw,9 irons otherwise liked those a bunch. great feel and when it came to forging Mizuno has to be put right up there with ENDO and MIURA. They use Chuo which I believe is their own foundry. They've always been #1 or close to #1 forged iron up until a few years ago. whoever has a set of 69's and don't want them send to me I'll give them a fun through..... reg
How were the 59's? I've seen here the lofts are very strong. How forgiving were they? Similar to the 53s? http://www.mizuno.jp/catalog/product/43KS87606/1290090020/ Scroll down to see the lofts, offset numbers suggest a fraction more than the 53s. When you search around on that website you see the new woods as well.

ninjacobra
Seem OK lofted to me. Weaker than the R11's wow no wonder people are saying ohh im hitting my 4 iron a mile. the r11 lofts are so jacked so its essentially 1 club higher. the last time i checked 21 degrees is a 3 iron but now its called a 4. pretty soon well be hitting a 9.5 lob wedge Taylormade RBZ2 TP 9.5 Fuel 60 Ping i20 3 wood Aldila Nv Adams Dhy 18* Mizuno Mp59 4-p KBS Tour S Vokey 50* 55* 60* Scotty Cameron Select Newport 1.5 Ball - Z star XV Oakley Stand Bag
skihippy
I went searching around for there new driver and I didn't know that Mizuno was going square. I don't like the Craft driver. I do really want to try the new wedges, I miss my old MP-R. It was just the soft touch that they had. reg
Seem OK lofted to me. Weaker than the R11's Really? Have we reached a point where a 28* 6i is ok? For a Mizuno players club these lofts are very strong. I'd think every iron would be weaker than those R11's, those lofts are ridiculous.
SPY VIP GolfSpy Dave Posted August 30, 2011 SPY VIP Share Posted August 30, 2011 I went and did a quick check at Callaway and Titleist and their 6 irons come in at 28-29 or 31°, with the better players clubs being 31°. Think AP1 @29 and AP2/CB/MB@31. Maybe I should have said the lofts seem common, not OK. As one with no right or reason to bag players irons, I'll leave the playability discussion and impact to the better players.
