You could not have asked for a better November 20th day of weather, sunny skies and temps in the upper 60's and no winds. Played in short sleeves until the last three holes. Really good stuff with the driver today. I didn't use the Rapsodo as the course was packed and we had people right behind us. But did use the SX500 to capture most drives. Had a long of 226 and a short of 179 and that was a tragically poor swing that result in deadly duck hook that ended up in a fairway bunker. Most were in the 196 to 210 range, which again is a bit longer than than my TS1 and just as importantly as the TS1 is they were all fairway finders. Even a couple over the top low heel shots that didn't fly high but still managed to get out there around 190 to 195. My playing partner who is a died hard PING guy hit it on several holes and really liked the sound of it, and he hit one 246 and he usually lives in the 222 to 235 range. We also tested it out with these Must be nice to get the balls before us general hackers do. Perks to working at a golf course & being in good with the local rep I guess. Thanks for saving me a sleeve! Make sure there aren't any skymarks on my club now. I'd like it to look pristine when I take it over. HA! Rickp 1 Quote WITB: Do I like Titleist or what? dlow206
So i brought the bad swing today to the course, driver, irons, short game, everything. I hit my drives really short, don't want to talk about the distances lol. However, after the round, I went to the range and figured out what was causing me issues. As I have been working through some recent swing changes and grip changes, my tempo got really slow for me. When my tempo gets off, especially too slow, I can't hit anything well. Sped up my tempo during my after round range session and hit a lot of good drives. Ball flight is pretty high with the TSi 2 when i hit it well, interested to see what the numbers look like on Trackman these days. Got on the course and the first hole, I hit a solid 7 iron and soild PW into a Par 5 for a two putt par. The rubber tees are the worst. Have become so accustomed to mine (same ones for years have a 1" yellow mark. I tee it to the bottom of that mark). I actually made an insert for them that fit the standard rubber tee...works mint. Took a pool noodle foam and took a rubber tee cut it almost flush to the grass mat (I keep that in my bag with the tee). Insert the small foam into the base and you can adjust the tee how you want it. Have become so accustomed to mine (same ones for years have a 1" yellow mark. I tee it to the bottom of that mark). I actually made an insert for them that fit the standard rubber tee...works mint. Yeah, I've told our GM the next order of mats they put in needs to have the slot running down the side that allows you to place your tee in anywhere you choose. sirchunksalot, GolfSpy_SHARK and Rickp 3 Quote G430 Max 10K TSiR1 15.0 Aldlia Ascent 60g TSR2 18.0 PX Aldila Ascent 6og TSi1 20 Aldila Ascent Shafts R T350 5-GW SteelFiber I80 SM10 48F/54M and58K S159 48S/52S/56W/60B Select 5.5 Flowback 35" ProV1 Play number
dlow206
I hate rubber tees with a passion. Next time i go to a range where I have to use a rubber tee, I am bringing my own that has an insert for a regular tee. Rickp
I'm laughing at her comment about keeping the ball..ha I bet you really wanted to tell her where you planned on returning it!! I do hate it when rubber tees are not the right height, it makes a huge difference. If they are too low, they do me absolutely no good in determining anything. If they are too high, I live in fear of skying it off the top of the face. That's why I'm fortunate I can go on the course while I can. Our grass range is closed for the season, and it's mats only, although if it's not crowded, I can sneak down to our instruction area and hit a few tee shots, just not off the turf. She was serious . She had no clue what was going on. There were 1/2 dozen balls in front in my mat from her shanking everything. The guy next to me on the other side was laughing his butt off.Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy sirchunksalot and Golfspy_CG2 2 Quote Rick Left Hand, Driver; PXG 0311XF Cypher 50 gr Senior 5 wood; Ping 425, Senior Shaft 55 gr 7 wood; Ping 425, Senior Shaft 55 gr 5 hybrid; Cally Steelhead, Hazardous R2 Irons; Mizuno JPX 923HM 7-GW Recoil 460 F2 Wedges; Titleist S9 54*, Mizuno SW 56* Putter; Waaay too many to list
