The distance difference is less so than the forgiveness and playability. So far in my on course data (haven’t been on an LM yet) the TSi and Epic SZ are fairly close in distance with Tiffany beating Eddie by 6-8 yards most times and based on the fitting she’s smacking him pretty hard on ball speed.

But more research will be needed to determine the ultimate distance king/queen

.5 inch shorter than standard. It is certainly helping with my dispersion and I can still get it out there!!

Played in our Turkey Shoot 2-Man  Scramble at the course today

The driver was very good, hit 9/13 fairways, one hybrid off one tee due to a cross hazard I didn’t want to take on, since my partner was in trouble on his shot.

The 4 misses were all barely missed FW and were kind of strategically playing to that side so the targets were a bit narrower than normal.

Had the Long Drive for Seniors for a while at a modest 227 but it was beat out by a pretty good player.  Surprised that distance took 2nd.

Still loving the looks of this at setup and the height I’m getting once i adjusted the setting to B3 which is what my fitter told me i could try if i wanted a bit more height on them.

It was a relatively pleasantly cool late fall day, temp around 56 but cloudy.  So the ball probably wasn’t carrying like it would in the summer. But Fortunately no wind, so it was nice.

We finished middle of the pack with a 74, but began the day with a double and bogey on our first two holes.  We then ran off 4 birdies in a row before another double on the shortest par 3 on the course 🙄

So that finished any comeback hopes.  The holes were cut in very tough locations.  They looked deceiving until you putted and saw subtle breaks at each hole.

The Super wanted a legit score to win, and it did at 67.

The Kuro Kage 50g R flex

That’s similar to my Kuro Kage 55g A. I might have been better off with 50g A to achieve a little more height.
My Tuesday appt maybe canceled due to predicted 32* temps. It’s outside (under tent) but grass Tee area. I don’t believe will drop that low but if it’s open I’m still going.

It's going to get that cold in Florida on Tuesday? 😱 It's supposed to be in the 20's here, but I wasn't expecting it to travel that far south.

I have actually yet to hit 160 ball speed on the LM with the TSI, while I have got up to 161 with the EFSZ. The Epic’s shaft and head is lighter, and is playing -1/2” compared to my TSi, so not really apples to apples; YMMV. Anyway, the forgiveness across the face is what really stands out about the TSi, for me at least.

I can attest to the forgiveness on the low heel shot 😬.  I have had a couple of those and the loss of distance was maybe 5 to 7 yards—i measure every drive i hit-good or bad-with the SX500.   I think the ATI Face is in play on those. They come out low with a fade spin on them, but they just seem to keep running when they hit the ground, and we are playing on very soft winter turf right now.

Exactly, I’ve never seen a ball “run” the way it does off this club face.
That’s why if I can gain more height this driver will be dynamite.

That would be with the assumption due to change in peak height, spin, launch and most likely land angle the amount of roll out continues.

I have a primo tee time on Torrey North Saturday morning. I hear the rough over there is starting to get pretty nasty so it will be a good test of the TSi. Cannot. Wait.

Well the TSi passed the test with flying colors. My stats say I was 6/14, but of the 8 misses, 6 of them were well-struck fades that were just off of the right side of the fairway (I wasn't starting the ball far enough left). Things also got better as the day went along. I absolutely striped the last 3 of the day on 16, 17, and 18, with 16 as the most rewarding in my book; this is an uphill dogleg right with the pacific on the left, and I haven't had the confidence to pull driver, aim toward the trouble and trust a fade for quite some time. I also like it for the view you get when you reach your ball and turn around 🙂

Correct. There are a few Tee shots that will require height and a bit more carry to clear water/swamp area.

That is really what has stood out for the TSI, is that the forgiveness is certainly something I have noticed. My miss-hits are playable whereas with EFSZ I’m too far off into the trees. I think especially with my Arccos data that I will have better distance numbers simply because I can find my ball more!

So even if they are relatively the same in distance that is a trade off I am certainly willing to make.

Hit a number of drives in the 230 to 240 range, which is not bad considering the 40 degree weather and just about zero roll in the fairway. Since no roll, those drive were pretty much all carry.

Longest drive of the day today, cold day, wet fairways. Ignore the 99 yard 7 iron lol. Didn't hit that one very well off a lie where the ball was above my feet.

couldn’t pull this one off when you had the contest running?! 😂😂

glad to see you driving the ball solidly with the TSi

Yeah, with the pressure of the contest i couldn't hit it anywhere lol.

Actually, made a small fix with my driver swing based on the lessons I have been getting. Haven't fully been able to translate my lessons into my on course driver swings, but picked up one thing that was going on with my hands that was making me make poor contact (had been hitting a wipey slice for a while).

Longest drive of the day today, cold day, wet fairways. Ignore the 99 yard 7 iron lol. Didn't hit that one very well off a lie where the ball was above my feet.

That's a good drive! Especially given the fact it was all carry with the wet fairways.

Those shots above the feet are so tough and it's hard to practice since most ranges give us those nice, level lies.

Thanks. Going through some weird phase where I am not hitting the ball very far, and this is happening throughout the bag. So its good to be back hitting the ball 230+. There was a short period of the time where I couldn't hit the ball over 200 with a driver.

Sorry, idk if you've already mentioned this in a previous comment and I'm way too lazy to look through 27 pages and nothing came up when I used the search function:

What is the sound like to you? Since you played a SIM Max prior to this, I'm wondering if the TSi2 sounds more metal like the Ping drivers tend to sound like, or more of a crack like the Max? Hit my TSi2 fairways today and I'm in love with the sound, could definitely see the driver making its way into my bag potentially.

I know you asked DLow, but we both have the TSi2.

It is definitely more of a crack, think baseball hitting a wooden bat sound, unlike hitting an aluminum bat.   Definitely more in the tone of SIM--I had the Sim Max earlier in the year.   Nothing like a PING and not near as muted as a Callaway.

Best sounding driver I have hit in a while, and I've hit a couple 😉
