2020 Official Member Review: Titleist TSi Drivers

Recommended Posts

I'm laughing at her comment about keeping the ball..ha  I bet you really wanted to tell her where you planned on returning it!!
I do hate it when rubber tees are not the right height, it makes a huge difference.  If they are too low, they do me absolutely no good in determining anything.   If they are too high, I live in fear of skying it off the top of the face.    That's why I'm fortunate I can go on the course while I can.   Our grass range is closed for the season, and it's mats only, although if it's not crowded, I can sneak down to our instruction area and hit a few tee shots, just not off the turf.

She was serious [emoji33]. She had no clue what was going on. There were 1/2 dozen balls in front in my mat from her shanking everything. The guy next to me on the other side was laughing his butt off.

Yeah, I've told our GM the next order of mats they put in needs to have the slot running down the side that allows you to place your tee in anywhere you choose.

Definitely mats w Tee slots!!

I bet, and I would have been as well.

I would have been tempted to risk my life and pick all those loose ones up and take them to her with the comment.."Here, it appears you need these way more than anybody else"  LOL

You have to remember there were 3 of these women all on their own mats wailing away. I’m afraid of herds, can be dangerous.

I refuse to hit my drivers off of rubber tees, maybe that’s a bit entitled idk but I’m afraid to do it!

I played again today, I have still yet to have a pure range session or LM session with Tiffany (yes she has a name now).

Played well, and Tiffany has a lot to do with it:

IMG_2390.JPG

Things were a bit different today, had this pushy-fade thing going instead of my normal draw. No range balls and it was 38 degrees when I got going but that didn’t stop me and Tiff
IMG_2391.JPG

The major difference I can see between Tiffany and Eddie Epic is that my miss hits are still going pretty far while staying in play. Played the same ball today even with the right miss

IMG_2392.PNG

Towards the end of the round I was able to straighten things out a bit and started hitting these low bullets that pierced through the 20mph wind this morning. I’m continuing to be impressed, looking forward to some off course data next week!

266 on a chilly windy day.  I just feel completely worthless now.  I had a 20 mph tailwind and 65 degree temps on a hole the other day and i barely sniffed 230.

I had the TSi out today as part of my 2020-21 driver testing project.

i was vefy consistent with it.  It was a consistent push to the right.  But very good height snd distance.   And the test hole i was using, i always favor the right as there is a lateral hazard all the way down the left.

I was surprised a bit by it being that high, I was testing out the Snell line up to see which one gave me my best in the wind, ended up being MTB Black. But seriously the ball is taking off like a missile from this driver head I’m surprised every time.

As many of you may know, i have been struggling with distance and direction with all clubs lately. I won't go through the full explanation, but I think i figured out today that it is related to my grip, specifically my right hand. Once I figured that out during my round today, had my best drive of the day on 18. Hit a piercing rocket on an uphill hole into a heavy wind. Only went 223 total, but without the wind and with drier fairways, the drive would have probably been at least another 30 yards. As you can see, the wind was so strong that my 8 iron only went 111.

The rubber tees are the worst. Have become so accustomed to mine (same ones for years have a 1" yellow mark. I tee it to the bottom of that mark). I actually made an insert for them that fit the standard rubber tee...works mint. Took a pool noodle foam and took a rubber tee cut it almost flush to the grass mat (I keep that in my bag with the tee). Insert the small foam into the base and you can adjust the tee how you want it.

Another option is to use a rubber band (thick) and wrap it around a tee a few times. It works great with low tees, and, you can adjust the height to your preference.

With me being prone to hitting a push slice (an over the top push slice, not an inside out push slice), I am experimenting putting the adapter on the A3 setting. So far, it seems to help mitigate the chance of a push slice. Of course I can still put a bad swing on the ball and hit a push slice, but helps make it less likely.

Honestly it is no contest[emoji854] Tiffany has been nothing but straight up rude to Eddie Epic. I am taking the plunge. Now I need to buy all matching Titleist stuff, that’s how it works right?

Not yet. Had a bad day playing and wasn’t a fair Testing Day, messed up knee again.
I’m still having trouble w height but distance is the same as current driver. I believe w a different shaft this could be a new member of the Team.
Tuesday morning w Titleist Rep will be interesting.
