TESTERS ANNOUNCED!   Inspired by ZELOS, the Greek god of rivalry, the name ZELOS was chosen to encourage competitiveness among steel-shaft users who relentlessly seek progress. N.

Testers Wanted (3) One of the ongoing debates, or maybe decisions among golfers is graphite or steel for iron shafts. It was long ago decided that graphite is the way to go for drivers, fairway w

Thank you so much for the opportunity.  I'm a first time tester and I hope to do right by everyone on my review of these shafts.  I'm thrilled to be a part of this test.

Zelos 7

Approximately 90-95mph

True Temper R300. (I find them a bit whippier than I like. I used to play S300 in my previous set of 845's, if you think I should go for 8's.)

To give you an idea, the irons are Nicklaus.

I have tried graphite which were lighter than steel shafts and I did not like them.  Currently I have True Temper Elevate 95 Regular flex shafts.  Think I would like to see the reviews before I change out my current shafts or get a new set that has the option to get them.  Whoever gets selected I hope they see a performance improvement.

  • I am Wendell  and 59 years old and currently have an index of 5.6.  I play twice weekly in the Houston, TX area.
  • I would like to test the Zelos  7 model in the R flex.  I have a smooth swing speed and the torque in my driver is 3.5.  I think this transition to a 2.8 or higher would make sense to me.
  • My swing speed in my irons is 87-93 depending on distance preferred.
  • Currently, I use true temper steel shafts in R flex in Taylormade RSi1's. ( I have a spare set of M2s with graphite shafts that I switch out from winter/summer for distance.  However, I prefer hitting the RSi1's)   My distance on the 7 iron is 144-153 depending on swing speed. They feel heavy (D1 swing weight)  and are a labor to swing.
  • I have considered moving to graphite as my swing speed lowers over time.

Looks like an interesting test. I am happy with my shafts so best of luck to those applying! Will be interested to see how those that test the model 8 in stiff do when compared with heavier shafts.
