But the number one issue for me was how small it would be when folded up. The guys at the store let me take three different carts out to my car to see how they would fit. Gotta love living in Iowa... What I thought was a frivolous purchase - a bag to store it in. Keep the wet grass clipping stuck to the wheels in the bag and the car truck clean, well, if not clean grass free... Urbs_Valhalla Posted October 30, 2020 Share Posted October 30, 2020 i've got a push cart on my christmas wish list for the wife. i'm bouncing back and forth between a refurbished clic gear 3.5+ at around $209 and one of the costco caddytek carts which is about half of that price right now on sale. all other things being equal - the big difference here is that the clicgear has a hand brake(which i believe i'd prefer) and the caddytek a foot brake. my question - is the convenience of a hand brake worth the extra cost of the clicgear cart? or is the clicgear built that much better than caddytek that the cost is well worth it? thanks in advanceCheck out the Rovic rv1s. I used to play a course that had a severe goose problem. Thus the resulting mass of goose droppings. I mean really bad. All the walkers used to put women's shower caps over their tires. Then when you were done playing you would just toss them. Clean tires going into your trunk. And if you get an eWheels, you want a swiveling front wheel. The front wheel makes all the difference in maneuvering on the golf course. The eWheels did not work nearly as well on a ClicGear 3.5. My family has two ClicGear 3.5s and the RV1S and love them. They are more money when purchase but they work round after round without any maintenance. Fyi I rarely use the brake. Figure out what features are most important to you, and then which brand comes closer to supplying them. * One of the best features of the Bag Boy, imo, is the "Top Lok" technology on the top bracket - if you have a bag with the same feature, or a recent stand bag, then it will slide into the top bracket and be held in place securely .. without the top strap .. so quick and easy on and off. MaxEntropy Posted November 3, 2020 Share Posted November 3, 2020 I have nothing to compare to, but I have a BigMax iQ+ with a hand brake - it is located under the right side of the handlebar and does not get in the way at all. It is also light (towards the low end of weight in the Most Wanted testing) and folds up small if you have a trunk with limited space. Chip Strokes Posted November 3, 2020 Author Share Posted November 3, 2020 hey everyone, just wanted to chime in with an update: i really appreciate everyone's information and suggestions, this site truly is awesome when it comes to real-life equipment information and feedback. i ended up finding a gently used clicgear model 8.0 for a price that i really just couldn't pass up. it should be here today if UPS isn't a good for nothing lying SOB. the only potential downside to the 8.0 that i can foresee is the lack of a bottom strap...but lo and behold, the fine folks at clicgear came out with a retrofit strap kit for the 8.0 that effectively makes it an 8.0+ with a bottom strap and an updated silicone top strap. as soon as they come back in stock i'll order one up. as always, pictures to follow once the cart arrives.
