Practice Plan

What is your practice plan for the winter

How do you break down your practice time between

Driver

Hybrids Long Irons

Short Irons

Wedges

Putting

My thoughts  Driver 15%, Hybrids Long Irons 10% Short  Irons 20%, Wedges 25% & Putting 30%

Would appreciate  your thoughts

For me - intermediate recreational bogey hacker (so you have the background 😂) - it's waaaaaay more short game and putting vs anything and everything else, then next come full swing drills (from my series of lessons).

Occasionally I may get to the range and work on "challenge" drills; eg. hit 3 x 7 irons on to an imagined green at X yards, then hit 3 wedges 3 different distances (eg. ladder out, ladder back in), then hit 3 different wedges attempting to hit them the same distance, etc, etc.

FYI, amongst many other resources I've read that Adam Young's "The Practice Plan" is really popular.

My practice will probably be very similar to my non winter practice.   I will putt for about an hour every evening on my ExPutt to dial in distance feel.   I will try to get to MGS headquarters to work on distance wedges and since I have a new set of irons  I will probably do a gapping session.  I will work on my swing by doing the drills my instructor gave me to ingrain swing feels.

@mwr57 if you track your scorecards electronically I would be willing to look at your stats and recommend either 1-2 items to work on in the areas you listed or prioritizing the top 3 of those areas where it is impacting your scoring relative to averages for your handicap level.

This is a service I am wanting to develop for players that don't have a lot of experience with stats and want to identify areas to improve while minimizing the costs with in-person lessons. My proposal is give me some data and I will give you some areas to prioritize and potentially some drills. No cost as I am looking to gauge interest and I have no formal teaching credentials. All I would ask is feedback on whether you felt the information had any value.

It would be even better if you had shot data from a system like Arccos or ShotScope which offers much better detail.

I would definitely be interested in that.  I just got ShotScope and have 2 rounds in and should have another 4 by the end of next week.
