I'm curious if this exists- do any of you spies know of a place that will do a custom grind/refinish on clubs?

I haven't heard of it. But I'm curious if people would be interested in such a service and why? If you're buying a specific grinded wedge, why would you want to change it? Swing change over time? I can understand the refinish, but the grind is the part that I just don't see.

Rag tag bag, but it does the job.

Taylormade R1 driver.

Cleveland CBX launcher irons.

Assorted wedges.

Odyssey White Hot Pro putter.

Perhaps the grind you want isn't offered and you prefer your wedges to match- or you like everything else about them, but need a little more heel relief, etc.

Pros used to grind their own wedges.  You could do that, then send to Golfworks for refinishing.

Lots of clubmakers offer the service, just don’t advertise it per se. There’s not a huge demand for it but there are folks that are skilled out there that offer it still.

I grind my own, but I also build Clubs and have the equipment to do it

Strong 3 wood: Taylormade M1 15* w/ ProjectX T1100 HZRDUS handcrafted 75x

LW: 60* Scratch Tour Department (CC grooves) w/ Dynamic Gold Spinner
XW: 64* Cally XForged Vintage w/ DG X100 8 iron tiger stepped

Have a ton of back-ups in all categories, but there are always 14 clubs in the bag that differ depending on the course and set-up. Bomb and gouge. Yes, I'm a club gigolo.

This.....

I wanted a bit more heel relief on my old Cleveland wedges so I used the belt sander and after a few iterations eventually got it where I wanted.  Messing with them is one reason I buy older raw wedges.  I don't worry about the finish and they are cheap enough that if I go too far with a grind I don't stress about a $20 club, I just find another.

If there is a competent club fitter club maker in your area, he should be able to provide what you want. Call or visit him and bring your clubs when you go. He can determine what you might need and do the work. Turn around time should be pretty quick. Otherwise, contact the manufacturer of your clubs and ask for their recommendations.

Note: I see you live in the Mpls area. Go see Stan Steuter at Golf Club Hospital on 43rd and Bryant Ave. S. www.golfclubhospital.com. He's the best in this area.

Most local shops have a guy. On Facebook I see a guy doing refinishing and grinding and the results look amazing. His name is Ken Flanigan. https://www.flaniganbiltputters.com/

It's pretty easy to experiment on a few beat up wedges yourself. But then again, there are so many options out there off the shelf these days, it's not really that hard to pick an option to suit your needs either. The only obstacle seems to be blindly following brand loyalty.
