cnosil
What is everyone's thoughts on this? Are you going to watch? I'll probably watch but won't be change my schedule if something else comes up. Thinking the idea may be a be played out for a while especially since there is only one professional golfer in the group. Shankster
I’ll pass on this one. I like the idea of these types of matches, but watching Charles hack his way around a golf course is not something I think I’d like to see. cnosil and GolfSpy_SHARK

Kenny B
I'm not watching. I watched Barkley on the Haney Project show only because I thought that he might get better. I don't need to watch a swing that reminds me of all my bad swings. PMookie
Charles is great for commentary, but not for watching actually play... I’d rather the old Skins Game. Even add some fun stuff to holes, challenges, etc. After Bernhard did better than Bryson at the Masters, I’d love a Senior Tour/PGA Tour mix where the older guys could show off their classic talents along the way! FrogginBullfish
I'll probably pass on it or watch a bit after work. Don't really know if I want to watch Barkley hack it up against a good player in Peyton, a great player in Curry, and an all-time great in Mickelson. Think if they could have gotten JT instead of Tiger it would have been more fun...Sent from my Pixel 2 using MyGolfSpy mobile app Quote DRIVER PXG 0811XF GEN4 (10.5°) FAIRWAY WOODS PXG 0341XF GEN4 (16°) HYBRIDS PXG 0317XF GEN4 (19°), PXG 0317X GEN4 (22°) IRONS PXG 0311T GEN3 (5 - 9) WEDGES TAYLORMADE MG3 (45°, 50°, 55° TW Grind, 60° TW Grind) PUTTER PXG BATTLE READY ONE & DONE
txgolfjunkie
I thought it was the second most entertaining match (Match 2 was the best), but Barkley hitting a baby draw off the first...that was the ultimate sandbag. Ain't no WAY Curry is a +1. That man needs to be careful turning in super low scores. I know that was a tough course but for someone who is used to big moments, his game was less than impressive. Phil needs to be in every match for the time being. I mean, he doesn't shut up but the commentary and trash talk is amazing. I actually enjoy seeing non-pros in the exhibition. Manning is relatable as a golfer. I'd like to see Phil & Justin Thomas as the pros in the next one and some how work in Michael Jordan and another big gambler. Yes, charity gets a big wad of cash in the end but I want to hear all the side bets in the group. russtopherb
I really enjoyed this one. Barkley wasn't anywhere near as bad as anyone thought he was going to be... I mean he wasn't GOOD but he was fine out there with Phil. I think Steph is getting too much heat for his game, the guy's what, 1 month out from the NBA season starting? I don't think his priority is concentrating on golf right about now. All in all, it was a fun watch and my son & I more than once laughed and said "hey we're familiar with that shot too!". Middler
I watched off and on, and it wasn't very interesting, though Barkley and Peyton can be very entertaining. A little trash talking and Phil WAY over-coaching doesn't make up for watching lower quality golf (vs all pros). Sure it's fun to watch other mortals play golf and make the same mistakes the rest of us do for 5-10 minutes, but not for 4-5 hours. Like many programs these days, watching the highlights is more worthwhile than dragging through the whole thing IMO. cnosil 1 Quote Titleist TSR2 11° HZRDUS Red CB 50 6.0 w Lamkin UTx Midsize Titleist TSR2 16.5º HZRDUS Red 60 CB 6.0 & TSR2 21º HZRDUS Black 4G 70 6.0 w Lamkin UTx Midsize Mizuno JPX923 HMP 4-GW, T22 54.12WS, T22 58.04DC w Lamkin ST+2 Hybrid Midsize Evnroll EV5.3 Maxfli Tour & ProV1 Ping Pioneer - MGI Zip Navigator AT Payntr X 002 LE, Ecco Biom C4, FJ DryJoys
Tom the Golf Nut
I watched the entire match. It was certainly a unique course. Barkley's swing was much improved to the point where I wasn't sure he was really a 26 handicap. His swing was much better, no hitch, and was hitting fairways. Manning had some heavy draw issues. Curry didn't play to a +1 handicap. It was interesting to see zero balls in play on hole 12. Phil did talk a little to much while coaching Charles. It was interesting knowing all that goes through his mind but some of it was better off left in his head. Just tell me the putt line is one foot left of the pin. Telling him firm or soft putt is relative to the feel of the golfer. But I played golf in the morning, put up Christmas lights after that, so it was OK to watch someone else play in the afternoon while relaxing in the recliner. cnosil 1 Quote Driver, TSi 1 S Flex 3 wood, Aerojet Max UST Helium Nanocore R Flex 5 wood, Aerojet Max UST Helium Nanocore R Flex 7 Wood, Aerojet Max UST Helium Nanocore R Flex 5 Hybrid King Tec MMT R Flex Irons, Tour UST Recoil 95 R Flex (6 - Gap) Wedges, Snakebite KBS Hi- Rev2.0 54* & 60* Agera 35" Ultralight 14-way Cart Bag

FrogginBullfish
It'd be nice if we could go through these matches without going through the pointless hullabaloo about whether Person A is really an X handicap based on one round. Handicaps aren't calculated on one round and there are many, many ways to score to obtain the same handicap. And really, if there was any issue to be had with the handicaps used in the event, Phil playing to a +5 is the one people should be taking issue with.Sent from my Pixel 2 using MyGolfSpy mobile app Quote DRIVER PXG 0811XF GEN4 (10.5°) FAIRWAY WOODS PXG 0341XF GEN4 (16°) HYBRIDS PXG 0317XF GEN4 (19°), PXG 0317X GEN4 (22°) IRONS PXG 0311T GEN3 (5 - 9) WEDGES TAYLORMADE MG3 (45°, 50°, 55° TW Grind, 60° TW Grind) PUTTER PXG BATTLE READY ONE & DONE

Or maybe his charitable causes, like donating 1 mil to Howard Golf, which he has since visited several times. Or promoting under armors new performance mask at a golf course. The guy is golf-centric.
