DIY Putting String or Retractable String?

Recommended Posts

This may seem like a dumb question, but has anyone made their own putting string? I'm assuming all you would need is a string and a couple of nails but I was wondering if you could make it retractable. Like use a retractable dog leash and add the string to that. Think of a cheaper option of this https://www.perfectpractice.golf/products/the-raindrop

Appreciate any and all help as I need all I can get to help get the ball in the hole

i can think of a few ways to do this...both are significantly more expensive than 2 long nails and some string, but here you go:

1. use a chalk line. fix some sort of stake to the spool end and another to the line end. when you’re done, you could just wind it back up.

2. get one of these retractable clotheslines you see in hotel bathrooms. again, fix a stake to each end. this one retracts automatically

I would agree on the chalk line.  $5.00 in Lowes. Two stakes or scishkabob skewers and your good to go.
