Shankster: Attack of the Logician

I recently took a personality test which revealed a lot about myself that I already knew, just strange to read about it from a scientific standpoint. I’m in the 3% of the population apparently, in the same category as Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, Blaise Pascal, and Bill Gates for some examples.  Otherwise know as a Logician...

Taking this knowledge about myself, I am going to put this to use in my golf game.  A change in the way I look at the course, a change in swing, and a change in my workout. My last round I kind of did this before taking this personality test, (yes it was for a college course), but I played shots I knew would work even if I didn’t pull them off (squishy ground), and used my natural fade shape off the tee and hit an enormous amount of fairways. 

The goal for 2021 is to get as close to 0 as I can. With the addition of the SkyTrack at work, I can dang near quadruple my practice....
 

Breaking this down in phases:

1. Get distance averages.
2. TBD

Or maybe a former Engineer thing! I play golf almost every Sunday morning by myself. Just because!

Same thing as the Myers Briggs test; they have just assigned names to the personality types.   This time I tested as:  Logistician

You're a 150 yds from the green that's surrounded by bunkers. Do you go for the green or do you lay up.

With a swing speed of 65 and you never make the fairway, your partners are playing from the tips. Do you feign an injury and still play from the tips or do you play from the women's tees?

Never lay up.

Tell your buddies to pack sand, and play where you feel comfortable playing from.

Not laying up from 150. Dont short side yourself, and playing from a bunker with alot of green to work with is just as good as being 15 yards short in the fairway. I've seen too many people layup scared of a bunker and then leave a 20 yard shot over said bunker and end up in it anyway. 

Swing speed of 65 and I am probably not playing golf.

If you don't already have a detailed practice schedule, I think you can find sample practice plans online .. eg. from college coaches or Adam Young, etc. May help give you some ideas..??

But seriously this seems different vs how I'd describe myself.

So.... Is this why I struggle with the game of golf....
