Looks 50/50 and some have done better then others, but it certainly could be track dependent.

As with every year, I am looking forward to this season too. I sure hope following and passing are improved as intended. Porpoising was funny, I am sure they'll eliminate that completely, though some teams still have a ways to go. Does Lewis have another title in him, or has Max forever taken the crown? I don't have a favorite.

Porpoising has been an fun twist.  I think we will still see it through the year along with some shake ups with windy tracks.  Interesting to see just how "bad" the drivability concerns are with the Merc.  If the car is competitive, Lewis certainly has another title shot in him, especially after last season.  My guess is the RBR car is the car to beat for the first half of the year based on testing.  If McLaren can get their front brake design fixed quickly, they are going to throw some points on the board.  I hope Haas can get their crap figured out and have a good year.

I think the best thing yet is how different car designs are between manufacturers.  I hope the designs will continue to drive innovation and creativity.  I hate when all of the cars are "exactly" alike.

Interesting, I've been using the official F1 Fantasy App for a while, the 100 million budget for 5 drivers and a team but Fantrax does allow me one less thing to need to check. Looking in, as a perspective commissioner, we'd need to use driver tiers, or else things would get silly with the no tiers options any everyone would likely default to pretty similar 8 driver lineups. If there's interest I'd have no problem setting it up, for fun of course, no prizes or anything.

EDIT: One downside, Fantrax caps the League size at 10, the F1 app we could go as large as we wanted.

I've done CotA, it is a blast. They also had a top golf range setup. With the weekend concerts, carnival rides, and everything else going on it was a great experience. I did make the mistake of tuning that id buy swag after the race at a discount instead of on Friday.... Nope turns out they sell out of about everything

The scoring is a total points league, as head to head doesn't really work in a situation where some of the teams may be exactly the same for now.

The roster set up is as follows. There are 4 categories of drivers, A, B, C and surprisingly... D. You need one driver from Group A, two from B, one from C and one from D. I'll put the drivers into Groups below

A, Hamilton, Verstappen

B, Russell, LeClerc, Perez, Sainz, Norris, Ricciardo, Gasly, Alonso

C, Ocon, Vettel, Stroll, Bottas, Zhou

D, Tsunoda, Albon, Latifi, Schumacher, Magnussen

How do you score, well here's how. Note that while we are not scoring Qualifying at this point as there's no way to do it that I think is fair as it's only based on where you qualify, not advancing through the stages (get out of Q1, Q2, etc)

Gaining points: You finish the race, you get 1 point, you get the fastest lap, 3 points, you finish ahead of your teammate, 3 points. You gain between 1 to 4 places at race end, you get 2 points for each position. You gain 5 or more, you get a solid 10 point bonus. Points will also be awarded for finishing order, like they are in the World Championship from 25 points to the winner of the race to 1 point for someone finishing 10th.

Losing points: You have a not classified finish, you lose -10 points. I think that means you crash or retire out, -10. You get disqualified, that's -20. Also, you can lose points for losing places on the track. Like above, you lose between 1 to 4 places, you lose 2 points for each place, 5 or more, a bulk -10

Sprint Races: Whether you like them or not, they're coming back for 2022! Scoring for sprints is the same as regular races, except values are halved.

I think that's it for now, join on up and get that roster set. We lock the league on 3/20 at 10:55 am ET.

I'm stuck with picking Hamilton for the tier 1 choice. Last season turned me into a Verstappen/RB hater. And even then, really only the last 4 races. I thought Verstappen went from being a top driver to a petulant child over that span. But I'm glad Mags is back! will be picking him every week!

Did COTA with my brother, sister in law, and a group from their way this past year.  We were on the hill leading into turn 1, incredible experience.   We made the same mistake on buying kit, should have purchased on Friday.  We thought there was no way they'd sell out over the weekend.  We didn't grow up watching or being around race tracks, so just being at the track was a lot to take in.  The cars and crowd just added to a crazy weekend. Highly recommend seeing it in person.

We thought about doing Miami this year, but the turn around was wayyyyy too quick.  Thinking we may shoot for Canada next.  That track looks like a heck of a place to see a race.
