Congrats on the move. We left Chicago after 26 years, moved to NC last year. Chicago and Lake Michigan was a great place to live, but enough with the winters, taxes and IL politics - we won’t be back. And it’s nice playing golf year round.

... Chicago in summer is just incredible but of course the exact opposite in the winter, unbearable. Especially up to 30 days with no sunshine. I grew up in NC so the 4 season climate is very nice. And glad to get away from the broken Illinois political system , although NC is just as bad and one of the reason I would never go back. Illinois taxes are really bad and getting worse so extremely happy to be leaving.

Good luck with the move! One of the most amazing places I’ve been to (next to Colorado and a few foreign counties) but in the United States Arizona is amazing. I remember driving out of the mountains from Colorado, nice 75-80 and getting into Arizona, the temp sky rocketed to 112 was wild!
