Kenny B
The Tri-Cities area of Washington (Pasco, Richland, Kennewick) has a population of about 250K. Each city has it's own post office. If I mail a letter in Richland to another Richland address, it stays in the Richland area postal system; delivered next day. If I mail that letter to Pasco, it goes to Spokane (population 360K) 150 miles away to the regional mail facility, then to Pasco. So, 3 days to go 3 miles. We had a regional mail facility, but it was closed several years ago. Kenny B
Actually, I have had pretty good delivery service from USPS, UPS and FedEx over the past month or so. I've had a lot of Amazon deliveries that were delivered on time or a day early. A few were late, but it was always Amazon's fault; e.g., I ordered on Monday; Amazon gave me a Friday arrival date; but didn't start the shipment until Thursday... arrived on Tuesday. Shapotomous
It's been hit or miss for stuff coming here. I've been waiting on two job checks that were USPS mailed on 12/7 & 12/9 and still haven't arrived. But on the flip side a Christmas card mailed from MS got here in 5 days. I have had good luck with UPS on my Christmas shopping, everything got here quickly and nothing is yet to be delivered. A pharmacy order I put in on Monday arrived today via UPS from NC. I had a real bad work experience with a UPS shipment summer of '19. 4 pallets worth of stuff worth about $100k. I had pictures from the customer when they refused delivery and it looked like some stuff could be salvaged. I went to the UPS freight depot in Newark, DE to look at the damage and about 1/2 could be saved. It looked like they played forklift soccer with some of the pallets and stuff that had been knocked off them. I asked if the truck driver survived the accident and they gave me a blank look and said there wasn't any accident.....they never got the sarcasm! So I crated the salvageable stuff and shipped it to the customer, who then sent it along to their end customer with the rest of the system via UPS.....and when it got to their end customer the same type damage was done to that stuff too. So it ended up being a complete loss and took 12 weeks to replace. tony@CIC, GaDawg, MattF and 2 others 2 3 Quote Modern Bag: G410 LST 10.5*, Hzrdus Smoke RDX 6.5 Flex; 915F 3w, Diamana S+ 70 S flex; Snake Eyes 18* 2h, 23* 4h & 27* 5h; JPX 900 Forged 6 - PW, PX LZ 6.0; Edison 2.0 49*, 53*, 57* KBS Tour 120 S; Heppler Fetch; Ball - MTB-X; Bag - Jones MyGolfSpy Edition! Mr. 82
Beyond the USPS being slow through the holidays, etc, I'm thoroughly convinced that 75% of the working population takes at least 1 week off in the last two weeks of December. And 50% probably take both weeks. It's like Christmas music on the radio when I was growing up. First it was just on Christmas Eve, then it played the week before Christmas. Now we aren't even done with Halloween and they are airing Christmas movies on Hallmark, and then they play them again to have "Christmas in July." The same with vacations and days off. I imagine we'll just get to the point where we'll only have a 4 day work week, and just shut the country down from December 20th through the end of the year. tony@CIC
It's like Christmas music on the radio when I was growing up. First it was just on Christmas Eve, then it played the week before Christmas. Now we aren't even done with Halloween and they are airing Christmas movies on Hallmark, and then they play them again to have "Christmas in July."Don't get me started on Christmas movie/ music and Hallmark Channel. My wife watches those movies from the beginning of October through early January . Hallmark Chanel has ruined Christmas for me. My wife watches them constantly. What’s worse is her sister does the same thing, and they spend time every night talking on their Amazon devices getting excited for the “new one.”Fortunately I get to go in the bedroom and watch what I want undisturbed.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk sirchunksalot, Rickp, tony@CIC and 2 others 2 3 Quote I always try to remember that I'm not good enough to get mad!
