Worked on wedges and driver today: feels like the swing is coming along nicely. And judging by the 2 feet of snow I’ve got in my yard, I’ve got plenty of time to perfect it...

Dumb question, I always thought the dry erase marker went on the ball and not the clubface?????

I figured that.  I thought you put a mark on the back of the ball and it transferred to the clubhead.   Just looked odd with marker on the clubface.

I use it just like spray, but it shows up better than foot spray. Maybe I’ll try it the other way around...

I can't wait to hear how it goes for you and if you see any improvement in your game. I know a sim isn't quite the same as seeing actual ball flight, but it gets pretty close.

So my driver was a mess on the front 9 in the sim. Just blocking everything right. Switched to trying to draw it on the back 9 and it made a huge difference. While my right elbow was getting stuck under and I was pushing everything a little right, I flushed all but about 2-3 iron shots. Definitely saw some distance gains on the longer irons. I hit a few distances that had me like

For those using foot spray and dry erase markers, another option is a piece of masking tape or painters tape. I use masking tape all the time and one roll will last a looooooooooong time. I call it poor man’s impact stickers. After a while, you don’t even need the tape anymore because the balls start to get some sticky on them and then they just leave marks on the club face.

My only concern with that is that launch angle jumps a lot with taping the face. I’d be a little worried about those shorter irons missing or hitting the top.

I don't know about any of you, but I've hit a few balls into the roof of the net and it's performed well.

I’m my garage the ceilings are less than 9ft tall, so I can’t swing much more than 3/4 back and 3/4 through confidently. I stand really close to the net/hitting area, so it hasn’t even come close yet.

I also don’t hit anything with loft higher than a 9-iron.

I finally was able to get out this evening and pair the Spornia and the Divot Board in a practice session. Weather has been crazy here the last couple of weeks lots of really windy and rainy days when I have time off work. That's been horrible, too. Worked today and I am scheduled to work next Saturday, too. Got to love major breakdowns.

That being said, it was a good day for working on the swing. I would like to say thank you to @B.Boston for the Chris Ryan video on the 60-60-100 drill. Between that and @Tom the Golf Nut recommending the ball in front of my lead foot drill, I'm seeing improvements. 20210227_172751-01.jpeg.6e1778c7c710248573abdeada34ed9a3.jpeg

I'll take that all day every day.

It wasn't all perfect, I was still hitting behind some balls, but the mis-hits were better than normal.20210227_174017-01.jpeg.baef6cd3a07c70a98943e3bee8ff1921.jpeg

There were worse hits, but Rome wasn't built in a day. I have to remind myself that this is a process to fundamentally change patterns and work on building a foundation of a better golf swing.

That divot board is the real deal. Between you and MPR I’m sold.....

I'm loving it so far, impact location and ground interaction are two things I really am focused on this year and the Divot Board covers two out of three. I say that because you don't see how high on the face you hit, but a little Odor X can take care of that. It'll be good to take to the range, also. Having to hit off mats doesn't give you the feedback this does. It's pricy, but I feel it'll pay for itself in no time with better golf shots.

I am interested in the range aspect but on top of that in the winter taking it inside and chipping looks to be awsome.

One of the greatest takeaways I have from being fortunate enough to review this net is the fact that I've never hit the golf ball right my entire life. Let me explain: as someone who has had three surgeries on my ankles, I've always relied on upper body and arms to swing the club. In my quest to be a better striker of irons, I've found out that ain't going to work.

Getting to spend time testing this net under no pressure whatsoever to see where the ball goes I've been able to tinker with my swing. Put me on the course or even on the range, and my focus goes completely out of whack and I start playing like I did 20+ years ago when I first took up the game. Being able to build the foundation for an actual golf swing and routine will hopefully start me on the road to actually playing decent golf.

I took some of the thoughts from the net practice to the range today and saw some major improvements in my ability to consistently hit the ball. It started out rough once I moved to full swings, but I was able to step back and regroup and started to see better results. I did two things:

#1. Getting introduced to the 60-60-100 drill made me realize I need to focus on rotating around my sternum. I try to imagine that on the backswing it stays where it started and moves forward fractionally as I come into impact. I'm starting to see more contact at or in front of the ball.

#2. Letting my body do the work. I was dealing with bad contact early in the range session today until I started imagining keeping my arms loose and trying to fling the club down the range. This feels like I'm engaging more of the larger muscles in my lower body and it seemed like I was more consistent with my distances.

I realize seeking professional help would benefit me tremendously, and I'm hoping once Covid is better contained that'll be on the agenda. My game was horrible last year and I'm hoping to see fewer bad shots in the coming months with the help of practice with this net.

I got some balls today after work, I've got my first round with my golf buddy this weekend and too much wedge practice is not enough wedge practice. The net performed well, as usual, keeping the shanks I started out with at bay. I did notice something, though. As I was feeding the roof poles through their channel, I discovered a slight rip toward the left hand side. I apologize for not having photos, I was in a rush and my phone was still in the house. I will amend this grievous mistake soon.

As far as practice goes, I was hitting the ball a bit fat. I put the net up in the back yard and the slight uphill nature of the yard might have been the culprit. I have got to quit doing that. The good thing is, there aren't a lot of flat lies on the course. Purposeful practice, that's what I'll call it.

20210314_163330-01.jpeg.cd64267ee4a68a13241b930ba85bb4fe.jpegI mentioned in my last post that the roof rail channel had developed a slight hole in it. I got out to practice today and got a picture of it. It's not too bad, but I'll just have to be careful sliding the poles in from now on.

I got some good practice in, focusing on the 60-60-100 drill and not letting my front foot go crazy. My weight shift is already miles better than just a few weeks ago. I'm also trying to keep one simple swing thought in my head and that is feeling like I'm going to sling the club down the course. I guess it would be like the medicine ball throw I've seen posted from those doing Fit for Golf.

Contact still needs work as I'm still hitting the ball a little fat, but time and practice will eventually come through.

20210314_164429-01.jpeg.7d1f0c9ea662d6f6184a29cc36245ddb.jpegI still was able to get more crisp contact than normal and that's an encouraging sign. 20210314_164631-01.jpeg.d63a00a600a2c397f43ee3da9b3e6b19.jpeg

I’ve gotten to the point that I can have it all disassembled and packed up in under four minutes. It has been fantastic on those days where I feel the need to hit golf balls after work, even before we were hit with Daylight Savings time.

Glad you liked it. I really like mine. I’ve got a fenced in back yard and rather than fold it up, I just pull out the poles and let it lay flat. It has just enough weight the wind doesn’t catch it, and the rain doesn’t hurt it. And lying flat She Who Must Be Obeyed doesn’t see it.  Packed it up for the winter but if the rain holds off it’ll be up this weekend.

After sailing a wedge over the fence into the yard of the neighbor of my neighbor - I only used my wedges with the chipping net. I also make sure my ball position is 9 feet from the back of the net and have had zero problem - but glad that “roof” thing is there.

Frankly I really only hit a few clubs - driver, six iron and use all my wedges for pitches and chips. The chipping net is more of a pitching net   It can be addictive.

My final review is up! Hit me up if you have any questions and a big thank you again to MyGolfSpy and Spornia for the opportunity to review this great product!

Thank you for posting as much as you used this net in this topic. You gave many here ample examples of what to expect when potentially buying and using this net. 👍

Your completeness and honesty in all of your comments and review, as well as the recent link for the "special sale price" made this net purchase almost a given for anyone who takes the time to read through this review.

Glad you were able to use it as much as you could, and have seen improvements on the things you were working on with your game.

The weather here prevents year  round use, but this net still allows a head start, or final wrap-up to the golf season in the northern states.

If I would have had to pay full retail for this net it still would have been one of the best purchases I've made. I look forward to this net making my winters much shorter and enjoyable for a long time. If there's a better hitting net than the Spornia at any price I'd like to see it. Courses have just opened and I can already see the improvement in my ball striking after just one round.

The sticker price may be higher than some, but you absolutely get what you pay for with this net.  I would recommend this net to anyone who wants to be able to practice almost anywhere, at a moment’s notice.

I think both of you for the nail on the head with these thoughts. I just can't imagine, especially at this price point, a better net out there.

Great reviews @braincramp and @Micah T! I really enjoyed reading them.

Hey testers, have a question for you - does the white strap the runs down the center of the bottom panel match up with your bulls eye target?

Mine does not. My target is a bit off to the left - which makes my OCD a little crazy. Just curious if it’s just mine or if any of you have the same thing.

Also, anyone adjust the target sheet?  I can’t really move mine to the right to match up w the line. Again, just curious what your experience is.

I think mine is left of center by a few inches...

And I never tried to adjust the target! I always move my hitting mat to hit target if I’m working on draws or cuts...
