2020 Official Member Review: Spornia Practice Net

How thick is the target material?

Any of you boys think you’ll poke a hole in it over time?

I didn't quite give the target material a good look over, yet. I'll get a photo of it when I set it up in a bit. I've got to head to the mother-in-law in a few minutes to pick up a tarp to set it up on since it rained last night and I want to keep the net clean.

As far as poking a hole in it, I'm going to try. 😂 I don't have monumental swing speed, but from the MGS tests they stated wedges will do more damage over time and I need wedge work. I like the target size on the Spornia, it takes up a great deal of space and seems like it cradles the ball after it hits the target. It might be a tall order to try to wear it out.

I finally was able to get out this evening and pair the Spornia and the Divot Board in a practice session. Weather has been crazy here the last couple of weeks lots of really windy and rainy days when

Ok everyone, I have a video of the assembly process of the net. I did have issues with the roof, I probably should have assembled it before standing the net up. It's one of those you live, you learn m

Messed around with the flat setting on my G410 plus today: I may have stumbled onto something... Anyway I gave the net the business today: full speed swings at 115+ mph with the Driver. Next session

I forgot to mention I went ahead and ordered the side extenders. I woke up this morning and freaked out because the utility company wouldn't accept my card for payment due to it being close to expiring. Had to make sure it still worked and I hadn't gotten hacked.

I was worried, but when that transaction went through I breathed a sigh of relief.

Here's the video of me taking the Spornia down and packing it up.

Also, @B.Boston while I didn't take a photo of the thickness of the target I did look and noticed it's fairly thin. That's not to say it won't hold up, because it seems to really envelop the ball and not take the brunt of the impact.

Well done. Looks a lot like some camping tents I've had the privilege to wrestle with 😆.

This was awesome!  Thanks for showing that, seems like 1.  It’s been well designed as far as setting up and taking down. 2. Seems like it has a good amount of heft to it, looks and sounds like some heavy weight and high quality materials.

Hopefully you guys will find that they hold up well.  If I get a net I’d like something that can be fairly easy to set up and take down as I wouldn’t have a permanent spot anywhere in my yard.

Thank you! It's definitely well made, I typed topped a 5 wood so bad today that it hit the rail closest to my feet and held up well. I see more shots like that in its future. Hopefully not, I don't like abusing equipment like that.

I think setup and take down will get quicker as I go along, just got to get the practice in with it.

I really like the fact it has separate poles. I have an older Callaway net that will hurt you. I release the strap and hold it closed. Find a clear area and toss it. It springs open pretty violently. Closing it is even worse. For the most part it sits closed in the garage.

That sounds like it was poorly designed. I really don't blame you for not using it, I don't think the risk of impalement would be worth it. I think the safety designs and features in this one are great. The roof addition is a nice touch to catch high wedge shots and keep from hitting a ball somewhere you don't want to.

Looking on the FedEx website, the Dura Pro hitting mat is supposed to be delivered today. So far, USPS and UPS have been to my house. 47cc5144ccfd6c272138454742257dd5.gif.a4904654de51d375f5de8d426cdddbde.gif

Ah you see for me FedEx has the earliest deliveries, then USPS, and UPS always shows up between 7-930PM after the kids go to sleep so my dogs can bark and wake them up. [emoji849]

My dogs are absolutely spazzing out right now. I think they believe the delivery drivers are out to kill them, or at least steal their treats.

Agreed! Even when she hears a truck coming, she’s going nuts!
