Wondering do you use foam balls while using the spray on the club as well?

I will use the spray with the foam balls, but I do have to clean and spray the clubs more often. I find that the foam balls really compress and it gets difficult to differentiate where contact is made. With real balls I can get ten shots in and still have an idea how I'm doing, but three or four shots with the foam balls can cover the entire face.

I try to stick with regular balls for most practice, unless I'm working on something extreme with my swing. I'll also use them in situations where I might, for example, shank one into a car.

Try a dry erase marker for irons and wedges...

So I’ve learned a few things using the indoor net. 1. Don’t cheap out on the foot spray. The Meijer brand doesn’t show up very well. 2. My ball striking is definitely getting better. I used to be much more toey on most of my misses and now they are sliding closer to the heel. This is where I need to see some ball flight. I’m wondering if I’m getting a little to out to in on the path. Here’s some strikes from today. I know it’s a little tough to see, but I hit 5 balls with each.

Those strike patterns are looking good! The 4 iron is particularly impressive.

I'll be interested to see how this'll translate to your game once you can get out and play. I'm seeing positive results so far and wonder how it'll work for you in shaking the winter rust off.

Still impressed by that 4 iron.

@sirchunksalotRtracymog I’ve learned that I line up left and hit straight shots, rather than just pull the ball left like I thought...

So I had kids doing some driver testing after 4 weeks of @superspeedgolf training and lifting and there were some serious shanks off the side bar that missed the net (4 total) and the net simply went back into place. No damage to the poles at all as far as I can see!

I’m going to play 18 in a simulator using foresight tomorrow. I will be curious to see how the swing and ball flight looks as well.
Hitting the 4 iron like that is dangerous. It might make me think that I could play blades a lot farther along in the set and better than I can. [emoji23]

I can't wait to hear how it goes for you and if you see any improvement in your game. I know a sim isn't quite the same as seeing actual ball flight, but it gets pretty close.

I love the net and more specifically how it really motivates me to actually work on drills. I've played twice recently and the things I'm working on are showing improvement on the course. It's not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, I still have old habits creep in. I am finding that when I just relax and trust the process, I'm seeing results that make me believe I might just be able to play this game. I'm going to work more on weight shift this weekend as I'm still occasionally trying to help the ball get into the air. I was hoping my driveway would be dry when I got off work today, but it was still wet.

Worked on wedges and driver today: feels like the swing is coming along nicely. And judging by the 2 feet of snow I’ve got in my yard, I’ve got plenty of time to perfect it...

Dumb question, I always thought the dry erase marker went on the ball and not the clubface?????

I figured that.  I thought you put a mark on the back of the ball and it transferred to the clubhead.   Just looked odd with marker on the clubface.

I use it just like spray, but it shows up better than foot spray. Maybe I’ll try it the other way around...

So my driver was a mess on the front 9 in the sim. Just blocking everything right. Switched to trying to draw it on the back 9 and it made a huge difference. While my right elbow was getting stuck under and I was pushing everything a little right, I flushed all but about 2-3 iron shots. Definitely saw some distance gains on the longer irons. I hit a few distances that had me like

For those using foot spray and dry erase markers, another option is a piece of masking tape or painters tape. I use masking tape all the time and one roll will last a looooooooooong time. I call it poor man’s impact stickers. After a while, you don’t even need the tape anymore because the balls start to get some sticky on them and then they just leave marks on the club face.

My only concern with that is that launch angle jumps a lot with taping the face. I’d be a little worried about those shorter irons missing or hitting the top.

I don't know about any of you, but I've hit a few balls into the roof of the net and it's performed well.

I’m my garage the ceilings are less than 9ft tall, so I can’t swing much more than 3/4 back and 3/4 through confidently. I stand really close to the net/hitting area, so it hasn’t even come close yet.

I also don’t hit anything with loft higher than a 9-iron.
