3 Bays Sensor - anyone heard of this?

it’s a little arccos sized sensor that attaches to your grip and supposedly gives you a ton of club and ball data. looks interesting, has anyone heard of or used this?

as far as i know, yeah. you can order direct from their site. 

came across a post on a certain other forum where someone was saying they use theirs a lot.

me either. that’s why we’re here in this thread. 

if this thing is legit, it’s about the cheapest and least obtrusive option for anyone looking at a long winter of hitting into a net.

I used it a while back. Still have it actually and am thinking about giving it a whirl again

We just got the last piece for the SkyTrak at work... super stoked.

just have to figure out how to get WiFi in the building we are setting it up in... does it even need WiFi?

no idea on the sky trac. if i had more space, i’d be looking into something like that. 

if this 3bays thing works, then i’d pick it up for the garage net i’m installing.

Yes. I have had a lot of changes the past few years so have not used it. But it is great with swing plane. I’ll make it a point to get to the range this week and use it if you’re interested in the data it offers

i struggle seeing that plane in a video so this was great

SkyTrak only needs WiFi if you purchase the game improvement package for a hundred bucks. Without WiFi you only get the range. With game improvement you get courses to play which makes it a lot more fu. In my opinion.

We are getting out of my area of expertise but I don't see why not. I don't think you need a ton of speed for the game improvement courses. When you pay for the next level I think you need a gaming PC and lightning fast internet. I'd try it for you but I hate to break my connection because it took me about a week to get it up and running when I got it.

SkyTrak can connect directly to your device, it creates it's own 'hotspot' so even if no network is available it can still connect to your tablet/phone.

I had a 3Bays a while ago, and liked it.  I sold it when i got a Garmin watch and truswing, otherwise would still use it.

I would suggest you look at PhiGolf too. It is more 'gamey' than 3Bays, but does putting and has a simulator with driving range and courses you can actually play, rather than just giving numerical data.

Both 3Bays and PhiGolf will work without a ball. And as both plug in to the grip end they can 'wobble' a bit and give odd readings at times. The more stable it is on the club the more consistent your readings will be.
