TexasFullSend
So I am looking into getting new wedges soon as mine are a year and a half old and the grooves are starting to wear from practicing and playing. I currently have a 52/56/60 as my old PW was a 48. From going to the gym and practicing I've slowly started to gain more distance through my clubs to where each wedge now goes 10 yards farther from last years yardages. I'm not sure if I should go 50/54/60 or 50/54/58 as the Vokey wedge selector tool recommends. If my PW goes is my 130-140 club and my 52 is my 120-130 club I feel like adding a 50 will put me to close to my PW distance. I've even thought about going with just getting a 52 and 58 along with my set PW(46). Kansas King
I don't think your gapping looks terrible but you could try betting your 52 bent to 51 to see if that closes the gap. Regarding the other wedges, it really depends on how you play. You could almost use another wedge given the distances you hit your wedges. Hitting a 56* 115 is on the long side and would indicate you probably use your 60* a lot inside 100. You could consider going 50, 53, 57, 60 if you have a club to give up on the long end and you prefer taking full swings over partial swings. If you like taking partial swings, using a 56* and 60* is probably fine. I wouldn't get bent out of shape regarding the gapping since everything inside of 90 is a partial swing unless you wanted to add a 62 or 64 which is dicey. What I recommend is look at your PW loft, which is 46* in your case, and then decide which club you like to use around the green. If you like the 60, then you know you will need to fill the gap between the 46 and 60. I would not recommend compromising on the club you like to use around the green just to make the gapping look better. I also would recommend a 60 if are hitting it 90 yards. If you change to a 58*, then you might lose a little touch inside 100 yards. However, I don't know how you play with your wedges or if you even like to take bigger swings with your 60*. I personally don't take full swings with my 60* very often as I have a tough time controlling it but my 56* does most of the work between 30 - 90 yards. The other questions would also circle around what course(s) you play and what you need for them. Mr. 82
My gapping is 50/54/58 in my wedges. 4 degrees between each. I would also ask yourself what each club will be used for. I'll just give you my breakdown: 50° gap wedge - 110-115 yard full shots. 54° - 100 yard full shots and chip shots around the green from tight lies. 58° - 90 yards and in on full shots, (greenside) bunker shots, and chip shots around the green from the rough or bad lies. That's what I use my wedges for. Find a purpose for each club in your bag, and work on that purpose to perfect it. The number of the loft is entirely up to you, whether it's for gapping purposes, or you just feel more comfortable hitting a certain lofted club. Everyone is different. TexasFullSend
my go to club for anything 90 and in is my 60 degree. Bunkers, pitch shots, chipping as that is what I spend the most time practicing and what I am familiar with. My 52 and 56 are used just for full shot swing when I have a yardage 120-130 or 100-115. At that point I just use GPS and tag the pin to see where I want to try and land the ball. I don't lack distance off the tee as I usually leave my self with 9iron or less to the green on Par 4s. I think I am better off staying with the same wedge set up if I have my distances dialed in. Micah T
@TexasFullSend we hit it about the same yardage and I use 5 wedges:43* bent to 44* (150-160 yards)48* (138-150)52* (120-130) vokey f grind56*(108-120)vokey s grind60*(105 and in) vokey k grind43, 48, and 52 are full swing clubs that fit my best, average, and below average driver tee shots. The 56 & 60 are used for all my pitch, partial, bunker and chip shots. My advice is to look at your grind and bounce options on your two highest lofted clubs to give you the most versatility around the green. If you’re like me you want full swings as much as possible...Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy TexasFullSend 1 Quote Driver - Cobra LtDxLS 3 Wood - Ping g410 LST 2iron - Titleist U505 Irons - Ping i59 Wedges - Vokey Sm9 Putter - Mizuno Mcraft IV

I'm even think of just sticking with my sm7 52 and just replacing my 56 and 60 which are the clubs I use the most and practice the most with. I have a 60.12 D grind but out in west Texas a lot of my lies are firm and now that it is winter everything is hard pan. I'm thinking of jumping to a 60.08 M grind. LeftyMatt89
I did a gapping session and it helped tremendously. Lofts below. what was interesting was how far I was hitting my 54 compared to previous 54’s that I’ve had. PW - was going too far at 147-150 so it was bent to 47 and ideal yardage is about 143 50 was bent to 51 and sits right about 130 with a smooth full swing 54 was bent to 55.5/56 and now is my 115 club. Prior to bending it was going 120/124 60 stayed at 60 because I don’t hit it full. Bending my 54 weak has allowed partial shots to be a little easier. gapping was key though to understand how much needed to move to keep gaps 12ish yards throughout the bag.
