Message added by GolfSpy_APH,

Congrats to @blackngold_blood on being the 2021 MGS Fantasy Golf Champion. It was a honour to play this season and just a lot of fun as well! Thank you to all who participated and looking forward to next season as we all try to pull the golden ticket and title away from BNG.

That was like me trading you English last week. The dozen balls out of it made up for it though 😎

Can't quite tell if you are joking or not about the golf balls... kinda hoping you are though. Just being honest don't think it is a great idea to trade non fantasy assets for players in the league. Trades I believe should be within fantrax's system or what can be quantified within their system ie picks, players and FABB. In the end this league is for fun, which is the main part, however it isn't something I would feel too great about happening or if it is I just would rather not know about it.

By no means complaining or anything, simply just my thoughts on it as could lead down a rabbit hole I'd rather not go down.

So if I were to offer you my brand new radspeed 3 wood I just got in the mail for say Morikawa, hovland, and Koepka, you would decline?

We actually talked about this on the commissioner's Slack thread.  In general we'd request people not trade any real life goods for fantasy players, picks, or FAAB.  It's nearly impossible for us to police but I think everyone is honest enough to keep things above board.

If we see a trade of next to nothing for Morikawa, Hovland, and Koepka we would know something was up and deny the trade (unless you ship a 3 wood my way too).  🤫

I'll just be honest here so we can clear the air and nobody is left wondering. The trade between us was Leishman and Horschel plus $15 claim budget for English. He was getting two guys in the top 30 for my one so it was a fair trade and I would hope it wouldn't have been executed by the league commissioners had it been unfair. We have offered each other probably 30 trades this year and could never quite come to an agreement. When I told him I'd send the balls it was as a token of appreciation for not giving up on the idea of trading because I felt like I had been an annoyance with some of the offers and counters that had been made.

If that was out of bounds I apologize. I think the trade was fair though with or without my gift even if it does look more lopsided now that English won (although it was almost Leish who won). I agree that if he were to send me Viktor Hovland for Doug Ghim and a new driver that would be unfair and would make the playing field unlevel. I would never condone unbalanced trades in favor of goods. I have offered a gift to a couple others (all declined), but again the trades were very fair.

In the end, the golf balls were just a gesture of appreciation and not meant to make up for lack of value to even a trade out. I apologize if this upset anyone. I will refrain from offering anything like that again and rest assured, of the 150 trade offers I've made this happened less than 5 times and was only accepted once.

Appreciate the clarification and the commissioners would not allow overly bad trades to go through. Can't think of one that has been accepted and not executed, but something egregious would not fly. There are several of us that send out likely a annoying amount of trade offers, as for us it is part of the fun of it and as has been stated several times before if people do not want to trade all they need to do is simply say that or respond in the decline... stop offering me trades.

The trade was fair without question. I think I would have actually taken the Leishman side if it were me, regardless of English's win. As stated from BuckCC, think it is best to keep trades within the confines of the site without outside goods, even if they are of appreciation for future deals. You also already mentioned that won't be the case anymore.

Once again appreciate you clarifying for us as well, we all know how much we enjoy this league and in the end as I said it is for fun and a chance at a GT. Not as though we paid a bunch to join in, so can't say I was upset at all, more just a bit unsure or a little thrown off. I do this for the enjoyment and helps get to know more members on the site, even though I take it seriously and competitive I don't loose sleep... that a lie I have lost sleep over some things haha, but you know what I mean. The GT is (was) a bonus for me and I take just as much pride in the banner as I do the prize.

Week 22: Rocker Mortgage Classic
Another week in the books and 5 more weeks till playoffs and only 3 more weeks till the trade deadline! This week we had a lot of low scores and Cam Davis being crowned the champion in another playoff for the second week in a row, although this one didn't take a year to finish! Big congrats to him on a well deserved week and some great golf.

His play helped including our High Scoring Team of the Week: @GB13 who had a very solid week with 253.2 points. Davis was supported by Lanto, Hughes and Bubba to give him his narrow edge over @StrokerAce who had 252.25 points. In total we had 10 teams crack the 200 barrier! Which mean with matchups only 4 teams ended up going undefeated.
Screenshot 2021-07-05 07.27.28.png

In the final weeks we all know how important each win is so a congrats to these 4 for making moves to try and ensure their spots or placements in the playoffs.

Our league median for this week was a very solid 145.82, which is goof for a solid middle of the pack. I know I had quite the batter with it and was just happy to pull out the win over it.

The top 15 of our standings saw a big of change, however @blackngold_blood was of course one of the 5 Davis owners and managed to keep his lead up top.
Screenshot 2021-07-05 07.33.39.png

We also know our bonus points leading into the playoffs and it is very apparent that every win will count and it is a big advantage to grab as many of those as you can. For those who may have missed it, the bonus points and playoffs post is pinned at the top of the thread. We have 4 more regular season events and 1 more Major and a total of 50 wins available, for many as much as FedEx Cup points and top 30 players matter in the end grabbing a spot and making it to the playoffs will be step one, after that just enjoy the ride!

One week and the cutline just got a whole lot more interesting. Last week there was a big of a gap and it seemed that it wasn't going to be as much of a tight race as I was hoping for... however this week has flipped that around and made it the entertaining race I was hoping for.

With spots 29-39 within 5 games of each other and several of these teams having had big weeks last week to climb up or right around the cut line.
Screenshot 2021-07-05 07.40.52.png

Although it can be hard to make up ground some weeks, next week will be key (I believe) with a weaker field and not many big names in play it is a great opportunity for teams in this range to make some bolder moves get maybe a extra guy or 2 in the field to help secure those precious extra wins.

Normally I would post players who were left on waivers who did well, but we had nearly 15 players left who scored at least 50 points or more and with this week coming up and the field being less with many big names preparing for the Open there are still a ton of good options there and available on waivers.

For the upcoming week how many will look to ride the hot hand and how many will "punt" on the week to make sure they are ready for the Open. Once again tough decisions and with the trade deadline looming even those may be harder to make or come by.

Both fields for the Open and JDC next week are up and available to view and could this have an effect on who is picked up this week? Keep in mind with FABB dwindling on many teams and it being available to be used right up to the final weekend to make smart moves and if you spend big on someone, be sure they are someone who you plan to roster for a while or who will win you a week!

Looking ahead to this next stretch and of course the Open, happy trading everyone, good luck with your roster moves and things are about to get really interesting!

The lead will be almost all but gone after this week. While I am actively trying to trade for IM and Berger I will probably still end up 0-10 this week. Luckily no matter what happens I will still maintain a few games lead heading into the final 4 weeks.

With how the field shook out it was a tough week for a lot of the "top" teams that had the bigger names so like myself who went 6-4 I only got jumped by @ZJBogey2 thankfully. Was a little worried it could have been a worse week and could have dropped a lot further down the order.
Where I did see a lot of gains and moving up the board was in the 40-25 range. Lots of teams with good weeks that made some pretty significant improvments with their rosters have more mid tier depth that allowed them to roster 4+ players. Hideki also having to WD had a huge effect, of course Webb and BAD missing the cut as well made for a interesting week.

Also I know he isn't playing this week, but really hoping for all those Z owners out there he is able to come through with a W in the final few weeks. Would be a great twist to the playoffs and make for a great story as well. Plus all that patients you guys have had will have been worth it and think that is well worth it for all you who do own him.

His next start will be British Open...that's a tall order! But stranger things have happened.

Waivers were completed, but seemed a little weird. I got my 3rd choice even though my first and second were still available. So ended up just swapping out so no issue, but may be worth double checking your roster moves to make sure you ended up with who you were hoping for.

My first option went after my second and third and now he's unavailable. It has happened every time I put more than one claim in. If there's somebody you definitely want, you can only submit for him and then come back to add the others. I knew this and forgot.

I also partially wonder if putting a bid in would make a difference. Example lots of 0 bids may mess up but putting 2 on a first option and 1 on a second may sort it out.
