Shagsclubs
I’m doing a re shaft on Snake Eyes 600XC irons. After pulling a couple shafts it’s evident there are tungsten hosel weights stuck in the ports. Has anyone had success in removing these? Based on a quick search, the 600XC irons don't have a weight port. Are they tip weights that are stuck in the shaft or in the hosel? I'll assume that you mean stuck in the shaft. Since they are steel shafts, that is pretty easy; graphite shafts are a bit harder. Clamp the shaft, heat the tip of the shaft and use pliers to pull the tip weights. If they are stuck in the hosel, one suggestion I have seen is to put a broken shaft end in a drill, insert it into the hosel and run the drill. The friction and heat from the shaft spinning will break down the epoxy and allow you to pull it out. The other method is using drill bits or special tools. I've only used a fine bit to drill into the weight and pull it out. That's a bit of a finesse operation, tho.
