How are you seeing out 2020?

Anybody got any plans for showing 2020 the door and welcoming the new year? I'm likely to observe this one like I do most New Years: asleep.

Most likely the same as you. It depends on how many sherbets I have when I get home.

The older I get, the less I care about what day of the year it is.  Like you, I'll easily be in bed, probably before 10:00 pm.  Besides, if you want to ring in the new year, just go to Australia, where they are already in 2021 (depending on which part of the continent/country you are in).

Hmmm with any luck all the kiddos will be asleep by 8. My wife and I will throw on a movie, she will be asleep by 10, and I’ll turn it off and be asleep at 10:30.

2020 was a rough year for us, especially with my wife coming down with meningitis on Jan 1, 2020 and having been hospitalized for a week for that. Luckily she came out of it without any long-term issues.

We will be having a nice dinner (takeout to be eaten at home) and having a quiet night at home.

As sick as it may sound:

1.  Probably watching some YouTube golf stuff (gotta catch up on a couple guys I follow), 

2.  Couple adult beverages

3.  Little fun with the elder kids. 

And that will be a wrap!  I doubt I'll even make it to 12 if I'm being perfectly honest!

We don't even have bars by me!

We make up some appetizers all sit around the TV and put on a movie that will end by 11:30 or so. Then switch over to watch the ball drop in NYC. Then by 12:30 or so, its off to bed. There might be a cocktail in there somewhere. I do have a quart of moonshine handy! 

With Covid my golf club is not even doing anything except take out orders only.

We'll both be asleep by 10:00. Just another day for us, however, thankfully tomorrow will have 2021 after it.

There are no bars open; no restaurants with dine-in, only take-out and delivery.  The State Patrol is doing DUI emphasis patrols, but with only small household parties, I suspect not many people will be on the road tonight.

Being on the Left Coast, all of the celebrations all over the world and around the USA done by 9pm my time, and they won't be spectacular anyway.  So, I'll sit here, watch a couple of movies, and drink my bourbon.

As for 2020...  SEE 'YA!!

We went and picked up Chinese takeout, came home, and watched a movie. I'm now chilling with the dogs on my lap and catching up on what's happening here on the forum. It's a great way to end the year. Happy New Year!

We've got a pretty significant beer cellar, so this is an excuse to open a special bottle. Tonight it's a 1998 JW Lee's Harvest Ale. Probably was at its best 10 years ago. Now trying a new bottle of single barrel New Riff bourbon. Unfortunately the bottle does not list the specs on the label, but it's pretty damn good!

Played 18 this morning, prepared a Prime Rib roast for dinner with my brother and spouse, top it off with some Asti, then somehow manage to make it to midnight.

Wife and I watched Jumanji: The Next Level. It was WAY better than I was expecting. If you haven’t seen the two new ones they are actually casted well and pretty damn funny.

We both were up about an hour later than I initially expected... I turned the TV off at 11:37.

First kid was up 5:50am to ring in the new year.
