Curtis Atkinson
Hello all, first post here and just looking for a little more experienced advice. I just started consistently playing in the past few months and am playing with some irons I had fitted over a decade ago but haven't played with much and just hodgepodge irons. Looking to play consistently in 2021 and looking to get fitted with a driver. However, with the new ones set to drop soon, I was thinking it might be best to hold off getting fitted in order to save a little money on current year's models once 2021's drop. Would this be a significant savings or is it not really worth worrying about? Also, will there be any trouble getting the properly fitted equipment from a previous model once the new ones come out? Thanks for the expertise, appreciate it! dlow206
If you want to take advantage of the lower prices on the 2020 models, then you should get fitted now while the 2020 drivers are still available. If you wait for the 2021s to drop, then the 2020s most likely won't be available for fittings. DiscipleofPenick
Make sure you are clear with that point with your fitter. They are going to want to fit you into the 2021 driver, not last year's model. You may be paying for a fitting then hunting on ebay. Curtis Atkinson
Appreciate both of those words as well. I just got fitted last week with the same guy for irons and I'd shot an email about wanted to go with the models that are going into being last year but we'll make sure of that. Thanks for all the help! Are you going to get fit or just buy the clubs? If you are going to get fit, how much in practice are you? You might want to wait until spring (even though you likely will lose bargains on 2020 clubs) until you are playing a good bit again.
