The Return of the Woode!

I'm probably a little too excited for this, but OGIO is finallllly making a new bag with the Woode top.  It's my preferred top configuration since the putter and woods get separate spaces, and the irons don't clank around as much as a 14 way.  Full disclosure, the first bag I purchased for myself was because of the Woode top, and I had purchased another one as well.  I've used a 14-way NIKE hybrid, and more recently, a few 4 way top bags (Callaway HL3, Ogio Fuse, and Cobra Speedzone Stand).

Not sure I love the fully molded look of the top, but I'll have to wait until I can see it in person.  I feel like this would be a great option as I will be using my pushcart most of the time.  I'll probably be getting this or the sun mountain sync... hopefully after getting a chance to see both in person.  But either way, I'm happy to see OGIO returning to what made them one of the best (IMHO) back before Callaway purchased them.

I have never seen a Woode up on a golf bag, but it looks pretty cool. Hopefully we'll see you rocking one soon.

This was the old style top... stand bag with a putter slot up top, woods and hybrids down the left, and irons in the main slots. 
 

perfect blend for organization.

Interesting organizer design.  I have always preferred individual slots like my current Sun Mountain. For me it's an easy "at a glance" check to see if a club is missing.  Plus, my clubs always go into a specific slot - yea, I'm OCD .  My new concern/consideration is (will be) shaft bag rash as I'm hoping to move into a composite shaft soon.  I've heard this can be a real problem and again, my clean and orderly DNA will trigger.  My SM bag has fairly soft, padded nylon at the contact areas, but I wonder if those will be gentle enough?

So I like the SM 4.5 14... if I can manage to get my putter into one of the top slots. I’d prefer the too right slot, and I just done know that my headcover will fit in there.

My putter goes in the middle/bottom slot flanked by my 56/12 and UW.  Driver in middle/top flanked by my 3w and 5w.  Then from L-R 4i-7i.  Then 9i/8i/PW.  I should note that I position the bag on my SM cart with the woods inboard (kickstand legs facing out).  It's probably completely bass-ackwards...but it works for me.

I had a Woode Ogio for years until a pocket wore through. I set up my 14!way the same way, woods to the left side and putter at top which works well for the push cart

Looks like an open top version of my Ogio Silencer.  I hope they re-engineer and re-release it, too!

My dad is Still using my old OGIO OZONE from around 2009-2010.  of course he puts his driver in the putter pit and the rest of his set up is chaotic at best, and he's moved to essentially a full hybrid set anyway.... but it's still working for him, and I put his clubs back in order every damn time I get a chance too. 

Any time I look at a 14 way back that's how my mind wants to set it up.  Even for cart riding I don't mind that setup.

PGASS.  I did a google search on OGIO woode 2021 trying to be optimistic and stumbled across the image and link.

It needs a 14 way top with full length dividers and silencer tech.

Going to need to take a look in the store... the photos are live on OGIO’s website.

I’m a little concerned that the interior dividers look kind of, meh. They don’t appear to be attached to the sides, the last bag I had like that led to plenty of stuck clubs.

Anybody get their mitts on this bag yet? I'm in the market for a new bag and am digging the look of this setup. What are the overall benefits of this design over say a 15 slot? Are there any down sides when this is used primarily as a cart bag and 2ndary as a carry bag? It's called a "Hybrid" bag so I'm hoping they've but additional thought into it being on a cart too.

I should have mine in later this week. But I have seen it in person a few times now.

I like this design because it keeps the woods to one side and the irons together. In the past this made it easier for me to get at my clubs and also more quiet when walking, since my irons could slide together. To me, it combines the bests of what I like about 14-way tops and 4/5-way tops and results in something greater than the two.

I’ll be sure to share some updates and such once I have it in and loaded up!

So I pulled the trigger and went out and bought the bag.

Maybe I'm too used to the 14 slot bag but this style is definitely going to take some getting used to.

I'm still wondering if this going to allow to slide and bang around if on a cart.. or maybe it won't be as bad as I think. If the clubs can stay in this configuration through the round without bouncing to different parts of the slot I'll be happy.

Well today was supposed to be the day.  But it seems the weather across the country is going to cause some delay.  My bag "left" Texas on the 12th, but I haven't seen a scan or update since, and as of last night the tracking is telling me to check for an updated delivery date tomorrow.

Completely understand from UPS's side of things, but its frustrating because OGIO had told me they were going to ship it overnight air for me and it went out ground.

I hate to hear they didn't ship it air like they said they were going to, but the delay is understandable considering the weather in Texas. Yeah I have zero issues with UPS making sure their people are safe. I know it will get here before Spring, so it’s all good... my clubs are just a little cold.

Bags in! Looks like it will work very well with my CaddyTec v8 push cart.  Seems like there’s enough room in all the pockets and they open pretty far. 

 

it’s not perfect though, the valuables pocket is lined, but it’s just the snap pocket so it’s not waterproof, which is a little weird.  Don’t mind the missing 56* wedge. I haven’t picked it up from the store from my shaft swap yet.

the top organizes clubs so nicely so even if I don’t love the other features this may stay with me. After setting this up I grabbed the 8 and 9 irons a few times and didn’t notice any binding so it seems like the dividers are working well enough even if they aren’t full pocketed dividers. They go basically all the way down and are anchored in the corners of the bag. 
 

will this be the bag for 2021? I’ll sleep on it, but that top might just seal the deal

So I do a little bit of everything. probably about 60% riding dirty and 30% push cart and every once in a blue moon I'm feeling healthy and I'll strap up.

I’ll be interested to hear how you like it on a cart. I’ve always still just left my clubs in the “carry” configuration with the Woode top since they’re on the side and out of the way.

I've been really interested in this bag. I love my Grom with the 14 way diamond top. Checked it out at the PGA Superstore today and I'm sold. Then I saw this color pattern and there are no doubts anymore.
