MLA Putters

Has anyone tried any of the MLA putters that did well in the MGS putter test? I have a chance to purchase one in mint condition for $60 plus shipping and was hoping someone has tried one of their models.

I have tried them as part of most wanted and had one for a short while. Alignment system didn’t do much for me. Putter itself was fine. Pretty sure@Studque has one in the bag.

It’s not in my bag anymore but I really enjoyed the time we had together.  It depends on which MLA putters you’re looking at. The “Tour” models are the ones that performed well in the MGS test but I’ve seen a lot of people buy the “Pro” version and become disappointed in its performance thinking it was the same one from the tests. It’s not.

$60 for a Tour X dream or Classic? Run do not walk to buy it. $60 for a pro model? Probably a waste unless your curiosity is taking over.

All this said, you still may not like the feel. I loved the firmer feel on mine but seem to be in the minority.

It is the Tour Series mallet so I guess I may have to pull the trigger. Currently using SeeMore SB 20 and really like it but you know how it is with putters you can't have just one

I still game my MLA Tour Mallet that I reviewed in 2016. If you can get one for $60, don’t just run as @STUDque suggested, it would be worth running someone over to get that deal.

I pulled the trigger on the MLA Tour Mallet $77 with shipping and hoping it will help improve my putting alignment

I’ve got the Pro model. It is not the high test Tour but I’ve enjoyed it especially in the Florida winter greens.Image1612198240.282704.jpgImage1612198252.117728.jpgImage1612198266.705466.jpg

I made a few changes after trying this MLA mallet. I bought the weight kit and have added the 10 gram weights and changed the grip to a Garsen Ultimate grip. Loving the roll this putter is putting on the ball and may have to swap out the SeeMore for a while.

I just purchased a Tour X-Dream mallet and have played with it a few times.  I am still getting used to it but I feel my alignment has improved.  For a new club in my bag, I have good feelings about it.  It came with 5 gm weight on the heel and 15 gm on the toe.  I have ordered additional weights from MLA to try a balanced face instead of a toe hang.  Does anyone know if Callaway Odyssey weights will fit in the MLA putter?  The Callaway tool fits the MLA weights to remove and install them.

I purchased the MLA Tour mallet a couple of months ago and ordered the weights from MLA website. I switched to the 10G weights and am putting better with it. Unfortunately I don't have an answer to your question concerning the Callaway weights but I'm betting you will like the putter the more you use it & agree that it has helped my alignment. Good luck and make some birdies

The tool is a standard wrench that is commercially available at a hardware store.

While there may be a weight that fits, both Callaway and MLA have different weight kits based on the model of putter so you would have to find the right size and thread pattern.
