Grip solution rash

I have been a professional club maker for about 10 years. About 6 months ago I developed an itchy rash on my hands and wrists. When I stopped gripping clubs the rash went away. We switched from a Brampton grip solution to Golf Works, but same problem. Anyone have similar problems or solutions. Thanks Joe

I  personally have  but I have heard heard of customers having reactions after gri installation  but that was with straight mineral spirits. Not sure of the breakdown of the two you mentioned, but have you tried straight Naphtha?

I'm certainly not a professional, but few years back I reshafted set of irons and with the ferrule finishing (acetone) and re-gripping (naphtha) my hands got raw.

I got a big box of surgical gloves, and wear a pair now if I use any chemicals.  Plus, keeping the epoxy off my hands is good too.

Curious, does it happen with water activated grip tape/tape or grips put on w/air vs solvents?
Reason I ask is I read a comment (another forum or manufacturer website, etc) once where a guy was asking big time chemical compound like questions to the site regarding if a brand grip used a chemical in its production of the grip.. I think the bottom line was that the guy had sensitivity to rubber compounds/or specific types of rubber synthetics. May not be related to your situation but thought I'd mention.Hope you figure it out. Good luck.

another clubmaker friend of mine developed a rash when gripping clubs, turned out it was a mild allergic reaction  from being exposed to a large amount of the solvent. 

  Ive not heard of the issue since. However, he started the use of surgeons gloves, nitrile, or alike type and the rash went away. He also washed after each grip session. 

Since that time, Ive washed my hands after each gripping session, no issue after 20+ years.
