I have a set of irons I want but I am 73 and don't have a world of swingspeed(the irons are mizuno hmbs) Can I make some of it up with really good shafts. Swing speed is about 85 with a driver on a good day.

It’s possible that you may pick up some speed with a change in shafts. You need to find a “good” shaft that fits your swing.

Driver swing speed is only a small data point to go by and may not even have an impact on your iron shaft choice.

There are plenty of quality lightweight options that would suit you well. You probably just need to see a fitter to determine what shaft is best. Shaft weight is going to be your biggest enemy if you're searching for lost distance. There are lots of great graphite options that weigh under 50g/shaft, it's just a matter of finding the one for you.
