One of the guys in my group started a thread for our area trying to arrange a meetup. It was quiet for a few weeks, but we got a reply last week. Shout out to @beerag04 for reaching out and hopping in our weekly game. Me and @Mtbryant01 really enjoyed it.

In light of Rick Shiels' #walk18 campaign, I'm thankful for the community golf provides. If you're new to an area or recently moved, reach out and start a post to see about a meet up.

Nice! I'm looking forward to our next Ohio outing but I think it's a bit early to plan it with winter in full force. Hopefully our designated leader@Mattf has some great ideas.

Is this real?  Gonna happen this year?  I could be convinced to make a drive down from OK if I get enough lead time.  I'd say 24-48 hours should be enough!  Haha...

Tom,

I'm more in the middle, but we will need to wait until July for the snow to stop flying. HEHE.

No, seriously, there is a ton of great golf on the front Range of CO. Even though we reside in Laramie, WY, we are members at a club an hour south, just to be able to play most of the year. I'd be game if anyone ever gets this far into the mountains.

Yup your in the middle of the US. I was refering to being in the middle between the Lousiana guys and the Chicago guys. I do like playing in Colorado though. I was playing in a tournment there every year at The Ridge at Castle Pines. Covid killed that this year. Takes a bit to adjust for yardages due to the thinner air.

OK is fairly close to the middle.  For the record, the geographic center of the US is in Kansas somewhere.  OK has some great courses.  I'm willing to travel a bit with enough heads up.

Yes, Kansas is truly in the middle, which is why we should figure out how to do this at Prairie Dunes. I'm willing to travel too. I was having a little fun with Tom, The Golf Nut and am starting to have delusional withdrawals. I managed to hit balls for about 45 minutes Wednesday, before the wind became unbearable. I don't mind the 40s', but with a 25+ mph wind, its just hard.

Been there.  Done that.  Wind is the ultimate equalizer though.  If you can play in the wind, the game becomes that much easier when conditions are calm.

I live in Wyoming. A normal day of wind is 20mph. All across the front range of the Rockies, wind is excessive until about June. I completely agree with your statement.
