Many of the reviews Ivd seen, people are loving the new Srixon. I fondled it a few weeks ago and watched a few people hit it and they are loving it. I didnt hit it as Im nursing a bad wrist.

Lots of peeps waiting on the RAD, but reviews dont show any significant difference from the Extreme.

For me, Im shopping for an F9 or an Extreme when the price suits me.

Tsi it has been leading the tour in drivers played and as far as I’ve seen non contracted tour usage to include paul Casey winning this past week with it. Also Mike from TXG and Bryangolf both have it as the best so far.

After my initial trial of most of the new drivers, Srixon and Ping would be at the top, with Rad having a chance since I didn’t get to test it. It would be tough to pick between the ZX5 and LST, but my brain still says the 425 Max would be a contender just from a dispersion stand point.

Straight hype? Ping

What was it about the Srixon you found really good?  It wasn't my area of focus for the demo day this Saturday, but since I'm there and it's a long drive, what the heck 🙂.  My latest fittings have clearly showed me that shafts are every bit as important as which head... arguably much more.  I'm going over to the local pro shop today and test the G425MAX and SFT with PING's shaft options.  $375 for the KBS Tour I tested is more than I want to spend.   I'm hoping one of these stand out... whose playing them and what are your swing type and speed?

I tried both the Rogue White and Tensei Orange in a 10.5* G425 Max at a recent launch monitor session. I load the shaft hard/quick transition and have a considerable amount of lag in my swing. Club speed around 115mph. Neutral AoA. High launch, high spin player. I couldn't figure out the Aldila Rogue White. It didn't fit my swing. It might fit a swing that has a little more arm action/smooth transition to it (think Adam Scott or lefty Matt on TXG). I was hitting low, hard draws with it all day. Even hit some with other shafts and came back to it. Not a lively shaft. Very firm in feel. It was a disappointment but then again, I've never fit well with the Rogue lineup. The only Aldila I can swing is the Tour Green. Now, I love the feel of the Tensei shafts. I can feel it load and it has a nice pop to it through impact...in other words, it fits MY swing. Orange launched a bit too high for my liking (~13.5-14.5* with ~2300rpm) compared to the Rogue White (~9-11* with ~1900rpm spin). Now, they didn't have the Tour 65 in X flex so I couldn't compare but according to the Ping customer service, the Tour sits inbetween the Rogue White and Tensei Orange. Take it for what you will.

I honestly think a Tensei White in a G425 LST would be the one for me but I would need to pony up some dough at a Club Champion style fitting and I really need to fund a new set of wedges. Decisions, decisions.

I have been demoing all the new drivers in the Trackman 4 simulator so I can a little better replicate how the driver might play on the course.  While I can get better numbers just hitting balls, none of the new ones show a Strokes Gained advantage over my old one once I take them out on the "course".  I'm pretty happy I decided to go this route as just from the standard hit balls down the range testing I would have purchased a new driver.  This route saves both money and disappointment.

Well, I went in for a fitting today. Hit all the contenders, and the taylormade Sim 2Max with 12 Degrees of loft was the winner for me.

For whatever reason the last few years I've lost all back spin. My prior gamer was only getting me 1200rpm on average. This got my spin up to 2300 with a 14 degree launch and 145mph ball speed. Carries a bit further now, but the biggest change is so much straighter.

I think I just saw a Callaway staffer on Golf WRX is playing and Epic Speed at 12.4 currently on tour. Roll with whatever works for you, and why a good fitting can help so much.

Yup. Everyone has gotten caught up in the low launch/low spin hype but for most golfers they need the opposite of something in between. Many don’t realize spin is their friend to help get and keep the ball in the air as well as help rescue the effects of mishits.

But with anything there’s a point where too much or not enough becomes a negative. Too much spin ball floats and drops out of the sky. Too little and it will knuckle and not go anywhere

The mizzy and G425 are on the radar but coming from the TXG fellas and Matty replacing freaky deaky with the TSi so quickly; it's in pole position for me.  While autoflex is intriguing, I feel like I wouldn't be consistent with it.   Since this is still dream-land I'm going with Tensei Pro White 1k.

TSi2 is a great club. It was nearly as good as the TM for me. The TM just won on spin consistency.   On average, they both got me about 2200 rpm, the TM did it +- 150 over 10. The TSI2 did it with +-300rpm over 10. Everything else was basically the same # wise. I haven't gamed a TM driver in over a decade, and it has almost been 20 years since I got my first Burner Bubble 😃

I've hit the first five poll choices, and the Cobra....A LOT! G425 was the winner in my testing. The rest of them can just fight it out in the court of public opinion after that, cant they?

I'm looking for a new driver now. I plan to hit all of them, Ping, TM, CAll, Srixon, Titleist and cobra. Already hit Ping Max & SFT and loved both of them. I think the SFT was a little better for me, but I will hit them again. Next up on the list is Titleist.

Based on the original question, I'm intrugued by the TM Sim2. The hype surrounding the TSi1 is also interesting and I'll go hit the both. I played Cobra for quite awhile through F7 but I'm historically a Ping guy and game a G400 now so the G425 will be on my list when they make it to used sales location at $300 or so.

Since G400 Max are selling on the bay for between $275 and just shy of $350 lately (depending on condition); I expect it to be QUITE awhile before you can sniff a G425 for anywhere close to $300.  Unless your "or so" equates to $100+

I'm decidedly brand agnostic -- but a bit less so with my recent change from a PING driver
