... I think have said this before but the Hotel California release was the most influential day of my musical life. Two of my favorite LP's at that time were James Gang Rides Again and Desperado and here they were coming together with Joe Walsh joining the Eagles. Got to the radio station an hour before for my shift and listened to a copy of Hotel California we got the day before it's release and was absolutely blown away from start to finish. The social commentary is still relevant today but was even more scathing when it was released and of course the music will stand forever. I own both a DCC Gold CD and an audiophile Japanese Import so with a high end processor and transport these sound just like analog.

My wife and I went to see them on our anniversary in Boise, ID... the summer before Glenn's passing. I had seen them several times over the years; the very first time in 1975 and 1977 at the Oakland Coliseum Day on the Green concerts. As great as they were in the 70's, I thought they were every bit as good in 2015. 

The long version guitar duel is epic - one of my favorites. I'm glad they are back touring and will try to see them again if possible.  Yea, I'm a big Eagles fan.

Kinda close tonight on the 137yd 3rd hole.  A 3/4 swing with the 8i and it was tracking well and I am thinking don't you dare go in since I am playing alone on an empty front 9.

I posted it in the 'Shot of the Day' thread. It was a short - 95 yd par 3 over the water -which I've birdied a few times. I always launch the ball high to add a bit of spin otherwise it'll run out into the water which surrounds the small green on three sides (think 17 at the Players). As always it was a typical windy day on Lake Erie so I used my Cobra Speedzone PW. The guys I was playing with started yelling that it was headed for the pin - so I looked up just as the ball landed, spun about 3 feet sideways and straight into the hole. If you look closely, you'll see the divot adjacent to the shadow of the flagstick and the brown spot. 

This is not only my first but also the first I've ever seen.

... Oh boy, I have seen my cousin who has never broken 100 have two. One a topped 5 wood from 160 that bounced down a hill, hopped over a little creek, bounced up on the green and right in the hole. 2nd he sliced a driver off a tree 20 yds right of the green from 175 that bounced straight back on the green and in the hole. My snowbird amigo from Chicago that is usually in the mid to lower 90's hit the best 4 hybrid I have seen him hit to a 167 yd back right pin that had his little fade on it, hit the green and tracked straight for the hole. At least that one was a really good shot. Saw two more over the years that were pretty routine. I also dreamed I had one on a tough  ... oh who am I kidding, the Golf Gods won't even let me dream of having a HIO.

I was really counting on Martha this past meet-up.  After the from the fairway eagle last year I thought for sure she would follow up with the ace.

She had her first one a couple of years ago on our #12... same hole I got my 3rd in 2016.  She has been Oh So Close on all the par 3's this past year.

Fun idea. Since coming back to the game this year, I haven’t been particularly close. Today was my closest. I did make the birdie putt!

Alright boys and girls I’m out! 
decided to take a little trip to PGASS today and swing the forged tecs. Hit them well but they didn’t have the shafts for them.

proceeded to hit several other things including the callaway st pros which were really really nice swinging. Messed around with heavy and lighter shafts. The guy there was great and swapped to a 95 gram shaft just to see how it felt for me, first swing buckets

i don’t want to hear about it being a LM. A hole out is a hole out! (Might be the only one I ever have)

I have also done that on a launch monitor and on a simulator where I was playing Cypress Point, but I don’t consider them to be “real aces”. The closest that I have come is inside of 8” twice (most recently in May of this year), plus hitting the flagstick about 8 to 10” above the cup (that left a nice paint mark on my ball).

Last month at Royal Troon, my playing partners and all three caddies thought that I had aced the 183-yard 5th hole (6-iron), but the ball came to rest just behind the flagstick — somewhere between 3 and 5’.

Here’s what we saw as we walked off the tee on hole #5 at Royal Troon …. No sign of my golf ball (we didn’t see it until we got near the front of the green).
