I’ve recently started verbalizing my ace intentions on every par 3 tee, asking what everyone will be having to drink, etc. Thus far the delusional gunslinger routine is having an opposite effect.

YES, I have been doing the same thing.  I even have a coaching session with my ball. Ok this is the hole, you know what to do. Are you ready? Yes, ok let's go. The ball flies off the tee in it's intended direction....Oh that's looking good, come on baby you can do it. CRAP.  Ok, your ok maybe on the next par three, my buddies are getting thirsty. Ok here we go again, CRAP, CRAP, CRAP. Ok buddy we can try again another day.

Actually, in reality, it was just you and Chris.  After playing 56 years, Martha finally got an ace on our #12 hole last year.

Slightly downhill 201 yard par 3, into a little breeze pin 2 yards left of center. No matter where the pin is on this hole it is 5 iron to the center of the green. Well I happened to hit it exactly on target. Ball starts right at the center of the green and draws 2 yards lands 2" right of the hole takes a bounce disappears behind the pin and comes out the other side. One of the most disappointing 2's I have ever made in my life.

Had come closer to the cup than your shot quite a few times in the last few decades, never had an ACE.

Had a couple of holed-in on second shot at par 4's and no dice on the par 3.

Had witness a new golfer in his first year of golfing Aced a par 3 ( he had no clue of the customary round of drinks for the witnesses including the Marshall who had waited behind the green to greet him ).  

Not to take it away from all of you whom had an ace in golf, congratulations to all of you.    I understand the hole out from a fairway will be much more difficult than from a tee box.  I treasure more of the Eagles with par4's and 5's. ( sour grape ? )

Same,  have holed out a few shots for eagle on par 4s myself and a few longer shots for birdie and even par on par 4s.   Just can’t seem to do it from a tee box.

I was luck to get mine.  Haven't had them for a long time ( holed out from the fairway  160 + out ).  I would not be surprised if I never have additional to add to my 2.  Mostly a rub of the luck as they said it.

127 into a slight breeze.  Too far for a stock 52, too short for a PW.  Yes, I have a gap.

What else to but hit the 52 hard?  Knowing that I pull the ball when I swing hard I aim right and let her rip.

18” short.  No pics as we were all too busy talking about what could have been.

152 yards, downhill with wind slightly helping and off the right. Held a fade up against the wind, and started thinking some extravagant thoughts as the ball started climbing towards the hole!

Landed just to the left and only moved about an inch from the ball mark. 3' putt for bird was a good consolation prize!

I too have never had one. Started the game when I was 11, now 50. Have had several 1 to 2 year breaks in there, but played as a sub 5 handicap (assuming that based on my current actual HC) since HS. Several hole outs for eagle and several close calls, but no aces. Has been a while since I hit one stupid close too.
