Zeebedy
Hey fellow golf mates, I have just taken delivery of my new MLM. Unfortunately it’s snowing so can’t go to the range.. I have also ordered a few things to setup a practice area in the garden, my question is however, can I use orange balls for the netting session? I read it’s supposedly for white balls, but I have a ton of new, but cheap orange balls I was going to use.. any input greatly appreciated! golfinnut
Not sure if color really matters. But to be safe, you could put a dark black Sharpie line on the side of the ball, so the LM "picks" up the ball. Just thinking out loud. Zeebedy 1 Quote WITB: Do I like Titleist or what? Zeebedy
Not too good mate, the two local to me, (one I use for the range, and the one I’m joining) are snowed under, once it thaws, it’s gonna be severely waterlogged. revkev
I exclusively use yellow Pro VIx's and the Rapsodo has not been an issue - I would imagine that the orange will work fine. I'm stoked I was looking at video from one of my recent practice sessions and noticed that it was giving me height at the apex on my shots - there must have been an update and now that's included. I knew that it should be. Zeebedy
That’s good to know, it is almost a neon orange these balls..think I will still add a line with sharpy to the balls also.. and yeah, heard on videos the only two things people were missing was the apex height and spin rate.. rev - what distance is your net from your stance and address at the ball? I ask as I’m worried if too far away, I might sky one over the net to a neighbour window! Zeebedy
Also, to add.. can I use the iPad at home, and then switch to the iPhone for the range? Or once one is connected, that’s the only one you can use? Quote DRIVER: Taylormade RBZ Tour 9 degree 3W: Taylormade RBZ reg. 5W: Taylormade RBZ reg. 4 Hybrid: Taylormade RBZ reg. Zeebedy
Got a app for the iPhone and iPad, to mirror. so I can use the phone in the rapsodo unit, and i will get a tripod for my iPad to show everything through that. I also ordered the last few bits from the rainforest for me to use a practise net in my garden! Cannot wait! will update with photos when it’s all setup. revkev 1 Quote DRIVER: Taylormade RBZ Tour 9 degree 3W: Taylormade RBZ reg. 5W: Taylormade RBZ reg. 4 Hybrid: Taylormade RBZ reg. B_R_A_D_Y
Used my MLM on a par 3 the last day we were able to play (Nov) ... one guy missed right into bushes, easily lost ... when we got to the green it showed where everyone’s ball landed, especially the one in the bushes. We def would not have spent much time looking under all those bushes for it. When winter is over, I hope to use it on those tees where we lose balls. Granted it won’t show exact location bouncing thru trees, but it probably will show where the ball might be in the underbrush lining the fairway ... that will be a time saver. How many people have wished for a tracker embedded in a golf ball? This is almost as good. It sets up quickly ... just a quick club selection is all ... something to consider. Dr Strangelove
What has been your experience with the MLM? My use case is primarily indoor. From what I have read, that is not where it shines. Brian A
Just picked one up and absolutely love it. While the ball tracer outside wasn’t the most accurate (I’m guessing due to the sun being directly at us at the rang) The distance data was within 5 yards or so. I think the biggest advantage is the shot replay, I can see where my flaw in the swing was with the last shot while I’m trying to change up my swing revkev 1 Quote Driver: G425 9* Hzrdus Smoke Green Small batch 6.5 70g Fairway Wood: Cobra Radspeed Big 3 Hzrdus Smoke Black 6.5 Hybrid: Cobra Aerojet 5 Wood Hzrdus Smoke Black 6.5 Irons: T200 (4-AW) AMT Black Stiff Shafts Wedges: Tour Rack 56* 60* Putter: Scotty Cameron Golo 5 Right Handed Pittsburgh, PA
