Gapping for t100s set

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone! I currently play a combo T200 (4-5) and T100S (6-Gap). My stock pw is 44 and the gap is 48. My question is how would you gap the sand and lob wedge? Usually 4 degree gaps would make it 44 48 52 56. But is it doable with 44 48 54 58? I’m open to any ideas! Thanks very much!!

It all depends on how you use the wedges and what fits your gap. The recommendation is to have 4-6* between each or 12-16 yards.

In my testing 4* has worked best for my full swing wedges. I rarely full swing my sw and never full swing my lw. I go 4-6* between the sw and lw depending on how I’m feeling.

I’ve been thinking recently to change my wedge setup from 4 to 3 and go 48 (PW) 54(SW) 60(LW) as have no issues hitting half or 3 quarter shots so wouldn’t be a problem having a larger gap. Depends how you use your wedges I guess and what kind of shots youre comfortable hit with each

Titleist do a wedge fitting tool online which may offer a bit of guidance too

Thanks for the replies! I managed to hit the simulator earlier and here’s the numbers I got! Since my stock gw is 48, I used that as my baseline when determining If I will go 4 degree gap or 6 degree gap. I was considering going 44 48 56 60 but 8 degree gap scares me hahaha! Thanks everyone!

I play almost the same irons as you T200 (4-6), T100s (7-PW). My wedges are 50*, 56* and 60*. This works for me, but people use their wedges in a lot of different ways.

My last set went 44, 48, 54, 60. Currently I’m at 46, 50, 54, 60.  I don’t think it matters so long as you know your distances and how to take some off of each club.

I rarely full swing my LW and prefer the added loft for short game shots. I use a LW for the majority of my chips/pitches around the green.

I am currently playing AP3s and the PW is 43*.  My wedges are SM8s 48*, 54*, and 58*.  Gapping hasn't been a problem.  Been thinking of changing the 58* to a 60*.  We have a Titleist demo day in March will probably get fitted for the 60*.

I also have AP3’s and bent the PW to 44 and added a 48 degree AP3. And then I have vokey 52, 56, and 60 degree. I think it comes down to what you like to use them for: the 44 and 48 are full swing clubs for me.
@PingMD702 I have 4 degree gaps because I just tend to hit both the 43 & 48 way too far. I’m replacing my irons this fall , otherwise I would just spend the dough to have 2 more vokey wedges that be more consistent distance-wise.
