ISO swing speed radar

I have a swing caddie SC300 and a Rapsodo MLM and a set of SuperSpeed sticks.

The SuperSpeed sticks are still in the box as it has been snowing/freezing pretty much since I got them but March will be here soon. 

Believe it or not the SC300 and Rapsodo don't measure swing speed unless you actually hit a ball so apparently I need a 3rd device to use with the speed sticks.

If anyone has a radar thing (PRGR or Swing Speed Radar) they're interested in selling PM me.

I have something.  I will check tomorrow if it will measure speed of a Speed Stick type club.

 

I bought a Mevo so I have no use for it any longer.

Just a heads up that your swing speed without a ball is likely to be less than with a ball. I don't know why. This was a topic on a different site back when the Swing Speed Radar first came out years ago, and many, myself included, found that our speed without a ball was several miles per hour, to, IIRC, as much as 10 mph below that with a ball. A work around was to use a foam ball (I used a cat toy), or even just a wad of paper. Apparently having something, anything, to hit makes a big difference.

Maybe on average, but I'd have a hard time believing that one can't just crank out a high swing for a radar with no ball.  Granted, form would go out the window, but simply talking about speed, I don't see it.  As I said, the averages might work out that way because it's such a mental thing, but I think a single swing, all or nothing, can be topped out on a radar.

It will, indeed, read speeds from a SS "type" club.  See attached pics.

FWIW, I was not swinging full speed.  I've measured speeds in the upper 110's with his unit.  It is old, but it has been reliable.

Looks like Swing Mate might be a better priced option than buying the PRGR / Swing Speed Radar.

I just picked one up on eBay for under $40 shipped.  That's a no-brainer compared to the $199 price tag on Swing Speed's site.

Thanks for the info - I'm considering some speed sticks and will need this as well.  Curious your feedback on accuracy as you use it.   I know the swing speed radar has always gotten high marks for it's accuracy.

I feel like the SwingMate has always given me accurate measurements.  I never used it for full swings with the SS type clubs, but I feel like it should be good.  It's not measuring anything to do with the ball anyway so I figure it should be good to go.

So I've been using the SwingMate with the SuperSpeed sticks and it works great!  I was concerned it might not work like the PRGR, but it's perfect.  Saved a bunch of $$, also.  You can find them on eBay for under $50 pretty easily (eBay Search - SwingMate ).
