WITB - Headcover Edition

I just finished reading the MGS article on custom headcovers. They didn’t mention the company that I purchased my headcovers from, Rose & Fire. That got me thinking that there must be a lot of small companies doing some really cool things with headcovers. I thought it would be cool to see the various offerings available in this area. So here are the headcovers in my bag. All from Rose & Fire. I have a couple of leather ones and a couple of cordura ones. I’m a native Californian and a veteran. That’s what influenced my choices.

There are plenty of good choices to be found out their pictured below is one I have from Sunfish Sales. They do some pretty cool things especially like their sublimated work, if you're creative you can really get something awesome there.

Yeah, it seems that there was a bit of a miss with the article. Seamus, Stitch, Links and Kings, and Rose and Fire were all omitted, unless that was by design to bring some focus to the smaller players. It has to be a challenge for these companies to get any traction with the PGA show being virtual this year.

As you can see I enjoy my custom covers. These are all from brands instead of being made by a specific custom cover group. You've got Oahu Golf Apparel, Almigos and Oak & Anchor.

Here’s a couple. Ladybug on the driver is for my daughter who’s our ladybug. The Buck Club fairway and Top Gun Goose for the putter.

Ohh, I forgot about Almigos. I have one of their ball markers. They did a “In-n-Out Burger” looking putter cover that looked awesome.

As a side gig during these stuck at home covid times, my wife started making head covers out of old Hawaiian shirts, team jerseys, goodwill finds, etc. I like them alot. But I am biased

driver cover is from Dormie, and the 3W cover is from Best Grips. 

im still trying to find the perfect hybrid cover for my 2i. i love the one Vessel makes but it’s been out of stock for a while now.

uncle “sharks” putter cover. 
my other headcovers I’m on the fence about. They’ll probably change with the next bag though. Something like @Chip Strokesis what I  am leaning towards but the putter cover is in there for a long time love that thing

We call [mention]Lacassem [/mention] Shark a lot. Once I saw it on MGS I basically kept on sharing it to him until he broke down and bought it.

Interestingly enough I was at a golfers warehouse and saw a number of those competition head covers for sale. I almost walked out with “the sock” but I like mine right now.

I have a Driver and Fairway from Sunfish Sales. Good quality for the price. I also have a Stitch putter cover that I got off eBay. 
 

I wanted to mix and match styles so I went with a wool fairway cover.  My hybrid head cover is still the stock Cobra one... that might have to get updated soon! And I like that my putter cover is different than the rest from a color perspective  I just love that lucky clover on my flat stick  I am Irish after all!

Pretty sure Almigos covers are made by Winston Collection, but agree they're the bomb.  They had some serape ones a while back with leather tops that were made for them by Seamus.

I was trying to get a headcover made out of an old Pepsi pin flag for my brother but when told the price thought, "hell, I'll buy a sewing machine and do it myself" so I did.

Showed some samples to my friends at my club and the director of golf and next thing I know I'm meeting with a brand and marketing guy and have a logo and website in development along with an idea for a cover that I'm currently working to patent.  I'm not happy with the finish on the bottom hem/seam and am in the process of getting a cylinder arm sewing machine so it's not the giant PITA it is on a regular machine.

Here's the set I ended up making for my brother for his birthday and a few others...I'll let y'all know when the website is up and running if you're interested and if I'm allowed to...think I might have to check with the mods on that one.

I am currently rocking a pretty cool knockoff purchased at a knockoff price.

But, looking for a driver headcover that is easy on and off. Any recs? The TSI 2 is a pretty tight for the standard leather headcovers.
