To be clear, they've announced PROPOSALS for changes, these are not final yet.  Mr. Beal seems to be jumping the gun, which seems pretty common in the Twitter-verse.

This seems very similar to the recent decisions regarding college sports.  No doubt we'll see a new section and entries on tax forms.  Endorsements and benefits have monetary value and the good folks at the IRS have a special fondness for all things monetary... and tied to a document trail .
