CARLSBAD, Calif. (February 28, 2021) – Team TaylorMade's Collin Morikawa captures the WGC-Workday Championship at The Concession, FL and moves inside the Top 5 in the OWGR.

Collin recently switched to TaylorMade's new 2021 TP5 ball and the company's new Spider FCG putter at the first event of the year - Sentry TOC in Maui, HI. He is also playing the company's new SIM2 fairway wood.

 

With rounds of 70-64-67-69 to win by three shots, Collin heads into the PLAYERS and majors season in good form looking to capitalize on his first major last year at the PGA Championship.

My info is that he has always had the 52 in MG2 and goes back snd forth with between the Vokey and MG2 in 60. 
 

The fact s 60 wasnt listed above would indicate he had the Vokey in play.

The Golf.com winners WITB had 52, 56 in SM8 and a 60 in MG2.

My info is that he has always had the 52 in MG2 and goes back snd forth with between the Vokey and MG2 in 60. 
 
The fact s 60 wasnt listed above would indicate he had the Vokey in play.

Not saying my post is infallible. But the info  came directly from a text lfrom TM’s PR after the win.  
 

Pehaps he had those in the bag at the beginning of the week when the survey was done, and then changed it up after Zingers chipping lesson on Tuesday

Getting chip tips from Zinger and putting grip tips from O'Meara... what can possibly go wrong?

If Adam's swing is regarded as the best amongst modern players, Collins cannot be far behind.  He seems so in balance all through the bag.

I’ve heard some commentary that his trackman numbers with irons are at the top of the tour.

Yup. He’s the best ball striker on tour. The Taylor made equipment staff said his approach to the game and mindset during tournaments is the closest to Tiger that they’ve ever seen. They said Collin is every bit the competitor, but somehow does it with a much more laid back attitude 

 

He and Hovland have jumped into my must watch list.

I thought hovland was going to be the best of the 3 that hit the tour last year because morikawa’s putting was a weak point and as much of a Wolff fan I am his short game and putting were weak.

Guy has the nicest swing on tour IMO. Saw him at the Sony last year and it's friggen beautiful. Adam Scott who?

I’ve heard GG talk about Adams unique setup and compensation. He backs away during his swing so he setups with the hosel on the ball so that he can deliver the sweet spot

Sounds similar to how some setup with tee clubs on the toe since you are more likely to reach

You are correct Just had it confirmed from my contact at Titleist. He had SM8 52 and 56 in the bag this week.  
 

also just noticed i mistyped above mesnt to say since 60 was the only one listed that must mean Vokey for the others.

Which makes sense that the TM contact left that out seeing as it’s not their clubs they don’t want to promote that. Thanks for all the do with checking that stuff Rob

I think the most impressive thing about him is he has ever category of the game covered. His weakest part of his game is his putting and he goes with a grip change and goes out and wins, while making some lengthy par putts.

Hopefully for him this putting stroke will stick.  It seems to me having to make periodic changes to a putting stroke would be bad news for consistently winning.

Feherty zinged Zinger pretty good in yesterdays broadcast when they were talking about Morikawa getting a chipping lesson from him.  After the second hole in a row where CW chose to use a hybrid or fairway to run the ball up to the pin rather than chipping it, he said CM must have been REAL impressed with Zingers lesson!!   I can imagine the shots sent Azingers way off the air!
