Pupini
So my local PGA SS has the 410 on sale for $399. The catch is that they don't have any demo clubs now that the 425 is out so I can test the various shaft options. They have the Evenflow Black, Tour 65 &75, the Alta and the Tensei Orange. I swing between 105-112 so I know it is a stiff, but I'm not what to go with. I think the Evenflow is a bit too heavy for my liking and I am leaning towards the Tour 65. I've read the Tensei has a high launch angle, but I am concerned about spin. Any thoughts or advice is welcome. My other option is to ditch the 410, pay an extra $100-$150 and get a 2021 driver and test the shafts. revkev 1 Quote - Driver: 425LST w / KBS TD60 X-Stiff - 3-Wood: Callaway Rogue - Mkii ZX5 irons - 5-pw True Temper Dynamic Golf Tour Issue - Hybrid - 939X: with Proforce V2 Stiff - SM7 50* & 56* - ER10 Mallet - Pro Plus
revkev
Of course everyone is different - you saw the MWD results - the 410 LST more than held it's own against anything out there for this season - I would have to thing that whatever little bit extra you'd be getting from another driver is not worth the $100 to $150 you'd be spending. If it's the 410 Plus though I would certainly think long and hard. I have been disappointed with mine - should have stuck with the 400 LST. Good luck Quote Taylor Made Stealth 2 10.5 Diamana S plus 60 Aldila R flex - 42.25 inches SMT 4 wood bassara R flex, four wood head, 3 wood shaft Ping G410 7, 9 wood Alta 65 R flex Srixon ZX5 MK II 5-GW - UST recoil Dart 65 R flex India 52,56 (60 pending) UST recoil 75's R flex Evon roll ER 5 32 inches It's our offseason so auditioning candidates - looking for that right mix of low spin long, more spin around the greens - TBD

They have lots of options with the plus, a decent amount for the LST and a few SFT. What was it about the Plus that's given you problems? cnosil
Don’t judge flex by swing speed; that is an outdated way to pick a shaft. That said it is impossible for us to tell you what shaft or head since we don’t know you launch conditions. The only way to know which shaft to pick is to hit them. That said the ping tour shafts always seem to get great reviews Rickp and Golf2Much 2 Quote Driver: G400 Max 9* w/ KBS Tour Driven Fairway: TS3 15* w/Project X Hzardous Smoke Hybrids: 915H 21* w/KBS Tour Graphite Hybrid Prototype 915H 24* w/KBS Tour Graphite Hybrid Prototype Irons: TR20V 6-11 w/Vizard TR20-85 Graphite Wedge: 54/12D, 60/8M w/:Accra iWedge 90 Graphite Putter: Sacks Parente MC 3 Stripe Backup Putters: Milled Collection RSX 2, mFGP2, Futura 5W, TM-180 Member: MGS Hitsquad since 2017
fixyurdivot
I was among the G410 Official Testers (G410P) and still playing it. I also recently tested the G425 series against my G410, as part of a bag fitting, and none offered any gains in distance, ball flight, or accuracy. Of the three versions, the LST performed best for me. What did offer gain in distance and slightly less dispersion was upgrading the Alta CB Red 55S with a KBS TD 50 Cat 2 shaft. The H2H test above was done using this shaft on the various driver heads. If you haven't done so, ask to get some LM data at the PGASS using the various heads and shafts. Thin2win
Also, the shafts in the 425 use the same adapter as the 410... so you should be able to swap those out to find a fit... I think I will go ahead and buy the LST with a tour shaft. I will take the $100 I am saving on the club and put it towards a fitting. Pupini
Thank you again everyone for the advice. I decided to buy the 410 Plus with the tour 65 shaft. While I was there I signed-up for a driver fitting knowing that I can return the club for credit within 90 days if I don't like it or if there is one that is much better suited to my swing. drb1956
Have the g410 SFT, and it came with the Alta 55. Felt a little whippy to me, and my SS is only 80 mph. Got me an Graffaloy ProLaunch 65 reg. flex, and I love it. Butt trimmed it to 43.5", glued on the shaft adapter, put on a new grip, and headed to the range. I have kept the 55, as I am a senior, and if my swing gets slower, I will put the 55 back in.
