Shot Tracer App - Camera Stand

Recommended Posts

I just added Shot Tracer to my Pixel 4a and now looking at some options for mounting the phone/camera.  In their tutorial videos, they show using a pretty standard, tall conventional camera tripod.  My wife has a nice one I could use, but it seems way overkill.  I thought about one that would mount to my SM push cart handle as that raises the height a bit, but then wondered if something like this might work just fine ($15)? Comes with a remote to activate the camera.  Maybe use it at ground level aiming upward or position it on the cart/bag?

For those using these golf shot recording apps, how are you setting up and with what gizmos?

I use a Polar Pro Tripler grip/tripod with my phone or GoPro.

PolarPro Trippler GoPro & Smartphone Tripod / Pole / Grip

closed it sits perfect in my Caddy Tec's umbrella holder and is a good height.  then the pole itself can extend to about 2 feet for some behind the ball, or even lower shots.

Something like this or what you posted should work great!

Also just a note, I shot most of my video on the GoPro and ran Shot Tracer on my iPad.  do yourself a favor and at the end of the shot speak to the camera where the ball ended up.  a lot of times you'll be selecting the end point, so having an audio note is very helpful.

I got this one for my iPhone. I enjoy it because it has the clicker to start and stop video without having to go to the phone

Very light and is a spring holder for different sizes of phone.

I bought a similar "flexible" tripod last year. It worked OK, not great. I couldn't get the legs to wrap tightly enough on my push cart handle to keep it from falling over. It got pretty top heavy with the cell phone on top.

I'm going to be using a GoPro this year, and ordered this for it:

It clamps nicely to the handle on my cart and won't be going anywhere. I didn't look too hard, but I'd imagine there are similar systems for cell phone mounts.

I have the same thing. Actually use it for my daughter's iphone for her to watch videos in the cart during rounds I take her with me. Works well and is pretty stable. Just be careful you don't over extend the jaws. The first one I got from my buddy the spring snapped so I had to buy a new one. So far so good with the new one though but doesn't hurt to be careful. Also if you are too rough with the extensions, they can pop out but you can easily snap them back in. I have had one extension crack on me though but Amazon replaced for free.

Great idea putting it in the umbrella holder!

I was thinking this would work well with a push cart handle.  Good thinking.

I ended up getting the one in the photo and used it to take Shot Tracer and putting videos.  It's flexible legs can be nested in bag slots and is quite stable. I also wrapped two around the cart handle and left the third as a stabilizer.  These are quite versatile. The remote linked to my phone w/o issue and works great (even comes with a battery 👍).  I also really like the spring action extension camera clamp; very easy to use.  For $17, it's a bargain.

Thanks all for the great replies and recommendations.  This forum rocks and so many levels!
