This is a WRX wedge fitting with David Edel that is 35 min, but the first 5-10 minutes are really good for learning about their wedge fitting process. Very in-depth, and more than just chipping balls, and asking on what type of grass one plays.

They say path/launch/spin which makes me think more than just figuring out what one needs as the grind based on angle of attack, grass type, etc, which is how most are marketed.

Three “holes” in the back as well, a la Callaway who has four. Gotta actually be useful in the Edel for weighting. In one of the pics I see the grooves don’t go all the way to the edges.

The milling lines on the sole are definitely different.

Another Bruce Sizemore company.   Similar wedges from Bruce were in the 2017 most wanted testing and were bizarre to hit.  They kind of messed with your mind and swing which made it difficult to hit a normal wedge.  The protocols actually had us hit a few shots with a normal wedge to get our swing back.    Played one of his center shafted putters back in 09-10 timeframe.  All of his designs are pretty interesting.

I'm in the market for a couple new wedges.  If they keep the current price point and a fitting goes fairly well, I'll try them out.

Edit: Club Champion is the only place that has edel wedge fittings near me.   I was already planning to do another fitting at the end of the year with the 1/2 off deal so I may just wait until then.  Even though, I'm not in love with club champion for fittings, they do have all of the options to give a feel. I feel like since I've been through a club champion fitting 3 years ago, I know what to expect and to speak up more often to optimize my fitting.

Looks like the new Edel wedges are out at $200 each. Big tech change is adjustable weighting. Same concept as putters and drivers; adjust the weight; heel, toe, center, to control the swing. My first thought was PXG, but when I looked at the pxg site they didn’t mention moving their weights.

Could be interesting to try since I tend to pull wedges and close the face; maybe some toe weighting would be good.

Biggest issue is the ability to try this and experiment with the weights. While I can buy them from Edel, the only option to try them is CC and I don’t want to pay for a wedge fitting just to swing the wedges a couple of time

I really like the setup.  $199 for a forged 1025 Japanese steel head with a very nice selection of shaft options.  I would love to hear more about these unique grinds, the how and the why of each one.

Ugh. Yeah, I wouldn’t want to spend that kind of dough to “try them out” either. There’s a guy 2 hours from me in Jackson, MS, that did my putter fitting and is going to be fitting the new wedges as well, and thankfully he only charges $40 for a fitting. I found some guys around the New Orleans area years ago by calling Edel and asking for the closest fitters... They were 4 1/2 hours away, but still not very expensive for a fitting. Might be worth the call.

Yes. I’m going to call my guy in Mississippi and book a fitting. Not sure if he has all of the components or not. I’m a CRAPPY wedge player, but I’m tossing around in my head the idea of doing Facebook Live or YouTube for the fitting so folks see the process.
