Anyone with ARRCOS Link problems

My wife's Link cr***ped out the other day. Won't turn on even after a full charge. Anyone else having issues because of the new firmware response.

No issues today and I hadn’t charged it in a couple weeks.

I haven't noticed it getting worse after the firmware update, but it hasn't worked very well from the start.

Here's the ARRCOS response. FYI, I went through number 1 & 2,  - still doesn't work. I don't think I should have to wait for the newest update in the "near future".  I'm very disappointed with the product and response. 

"Apologies for the current issue you are experiencing and this is something we have seen from multiple users after the recent firmware update. The steps below should work to get it functioning again if performed correctly and if they do not we will have a new firmware update coming in the near future that should get it up and running properly again.

First, could you please try using a different charger or outlet to confirm that is not the issue?

Second, we have seen a few Links get into a funky state where they are actually on and charging, but no LED appears, you can't turn it off, and you can't connect to the app. In these instances, we have had the user keep the Link OFF the charger for ~24 hours. This will cause the battery to drain completely. Once you plug it in, it goes through a reset and starts charging again, and is back to normal."

I've held off writing anything because I'm frankly so surprised at the poor performance that I'm thinking that either I have a bad unit, or it just doesn't work well with my phone (Motorola G7).  I'm going to try to resurrect an old iPhone to see if it works any better.

Almost everyone I know personally who doesn’t love theirs is an Android user. It’s a shame that the IOS version is so superior...

I bought the Link so I could stop carrying around an iPhone just for Arccos - the GPS in my otherwise fairly solidly performing G7 isn't very precise.  I'll try the Link with an iPhone, but if that's the solution, I don't know that I'll keep it.

Just heard back from ARRCOS, they are setting up a return for our Link. FYI, my wife was using it with a 2020 iPhone SE running the latest version of IOS. The problem wasn't the phone but rather the latest ARRCOS firmware version caused the Link to die. Hope she has better luck with the next one since she's very data driven - checking the club stats after every round.

I'm glad to hear that they're doing the right thing.  Arccos is usually fantastic with customer service.  And they need to be, if they're going to charge a premium price for their offerings.

Amen. My putter sensor died last fall, well after 1 year and they replaced it for free, no questions asked.

Had an issue getting mine started last round and it missed 3-4 shots in the first 4 holes. But after that it was good...hadn’t had issues before but it has me worried

I have the link and mine works good most of the time except if I'm wearing a jacket over the top of my belt line seems to interfere with some shots being picked up.

I'm just having a problem the last two rounds with Arccos picking up at all. I checked my sensors and they're working perfectly, but I haven't been able to get anything to register at all. I'm going to have to look into it to see if I might have something in my settings wrong.

My wife used her phone today to record her shots since I've already sent the Link back (wasn't working anyway). the phone ended up recording all but one hole - fyi she doesn't have anything covering her phone. Not sure why that happens.

I played yesterday wearing a light pullover over my Link.  It probably missed about four shots.  Also, the app didn't advance holes, so I had to delete a bunch of shots from the wrong hole and recreate a few holes.  It might have been worse if I hadn't checked my phone and forced it to advance.  So it still isn't a no-touch solution yet.

Today was windy and the link struggled a bit; was adding shots to the wrong hole, but then would suddenly auto correct...

My wife clips it to her pocket vs. belt since she always wears her golfing shirts untucked. You could try that

And it stays on with no issues?  I'll definitely try that.

That’s how I wear my Link (clipped to the pocket) and it stays intact. Keeps it just below the level of my rain jacket or pull over so the microphone is never obstructed. Worked great last season, and the clip is tight enough it’s never come loose.

I got my link late in the golf season and had been playing with long pants and pullovers.  Since I knew the link used a "microphone" I had it clipped on my right pocket.  Even in the few warm rounds I have played I got used to it being on that pocket and have continued with it.

In high wind this past weekend I had a few erroneous shots show up and luckily since I check after every hole I was able to clean it up.  It might have fixed itself, but I didn't wait around to see if it did.

All in all the link has been great.  

Yes mine is running connecting to an iPhone.
