Counterbalanced shafts for new driver

In the process of fitting for new driver (Epic max or SIM2 max) ... have had same driver for 8 years ... been told about counterbalanced shafts ... what’s the advantage ... worth the price ?

They allow manufactures to maintain reasonable swing weights with longer playing lengths.

Whether it’s worth it or not depends on whether one of the shafts on the market works for your swing. 
 

A px hzrdus yellow or even the newer version with the smoke rdx might be a good fit for you but something like the tensei orange isn’t or vice versa.

If you are going thru the process of fitting don’t limit yourself to a certain type of shaft but rather the shaft that works for your swing in the head you choose. A shaft that works well in the epic might not in the sim2.

Even better would be to go to a fitter and let them fit you to the best setup and not blind buy based on numerous opinions of shafts and head from golfers that are based on their experience when their swing isn’t the same as yours
