Driver lie angle and ball striking

Recommended Posts

Really working on my swing and was just checking out pxgs site. Saw their lie angle on there 0211 driver is 60*. Was curious on my EF SZ. Turns out that is 56*. Now I usually play my irons 2-3* upright. Would that or should it also translate to driver since you hit that off a tee and not the ground?

What's your start line and ball flight look like with the EF SZ vs. irons?

All over the place for driver and Mainly left of target line. Irons are straight or just right of target line with a little draw

Not to promote other sites but there’s been discussion on this topic on wrx and bowed Jones and iirc Stuart g do some deep dive explanations into the driver lie angle vs iron lie angle.

should be in the wrx tech forum

Curious as well since I bought the 0211 driver on a whim last week. It’s 3-4 mph faster than my ping LST but the PXG head is so much lighter. Start line is so much more right than with my LST that I had been wondering l; I’m gonna go check that other forum...

Stays right, but mostly straight; I hit more straight tee shots with the 0211 today than my last 5 rounds with my ping g410 LST. For comparison...IMG_4232.thumb.JPG.67388c5bbbeae0004903ce213ce4c1f3.JPGIMG_4233.thumb.JPG.a24e50088ea7e3b248578a5ec57e7803.JPG
1st is with my Ping G410 LST Mitsubishi Tensei pro white tx 60 gram
2nd with my PXG 0211 Hzrdus smoke yellow 6.5 60 gram

True golf fit said the PXG would have a 23.18 yard distance gain; one round in has it 16 yards longer. Accuracy will have to wait a few more rounds, as I missed a lot of fairways today simply by aiming for my cut swing shape, which didn’t exist with the PXG today. Aside from the 1st shot which did draw, every other tee shot was dead straight. And that is weird for me..

Nice. I just did true fit again and it suggested the g425 FST or the cobra xD which both have lie angles around 58. I may never know now.
